  1. I want a dumb mute Swedish blonde with huge knockers that runs a pub... Besides that, I am not sure if my vehicle, that is rebuilt, AND modified needs one of these poxy iva's. It's registered on a 1964 v5, with no engine number, as I bought it. It's been like that since the engine was swapped for a genuine rover reconditioned unit. (if I had seen this prior to selling the very good engine on eBay, could have got me another 200) It's now got a 200 tdi in it and lt77 5 speed. Do I need an iva, or is it too old to qualify. It's been built by a complete idiot, me
  2. Its a camel, not a cow but gets called worse
  3. I would actually one day want to convert the disks. It's got to last me a few years as is. Next big spend is winch and ball joints hubs etc. Was going to bite the bullet and get the bronze ones in dingocroft
  4. Please can anyone tell me what are the largest tyres I can fit on these rims. I really want to run 235/85 profile if possible, because the dana axle has poor ground clearance. Thanks
  5. Series 2a,3,109,defender, discovery 88 hybrid 1964 regeneration, no engine number on v5 (as I bought it)
  6. Thanks. Sobering up realise now that I have seen me pals true colours. Dirty sneaky selfish coward. I asked him what if that was his Mrs and kids, he said he would have stopped then. I think he missed the point. It could have been somebody's wife and kids. Anyway, he started it, grabbed my throat and we went over the bike backwards. Still no doubt be getting a visit from the plod today. Could be worse
  7. It's morning, according to gmt. Or do I say that I bought it like that? Who knows what when?
  8. Would not stop for a serious Road accident, so I rang 999 and told services that the car in the ditch needed immediate assistance, ambulance etc. We got into an argument and I had an episode of ptsd. Deepest darkest Lincolnshire it could be the difference between life and death. Could have been 30 minutes before someone else saw what was occurring. I am a registered red cross first aider, I don't think he will be talking to me in the near future. You don't leave people dying.! Went back on my bike, because I was too drunk to drive, the guy was serious but stable in hospital. I feel like **** for doing my mate because he wouldn't stop, but might have saved the man in the cars life, don't know as yet
  9. What if the camel is rebuild and modified at the same frikkin time???
  10. Leap of faith, like sliding the back into tarmac corners. Watch out for those tricky high sides though Snagger, sorry for the sarcasm, I think your a good bloke. But it's really only theory, and possibly not noticeable to most drivers. I think it's splitting the atom rhetoric. I was only commenting on how big the brakes are, and I won't be spending heaps on a disc brake conversion any time soon.
  11. Soren, I also used to ride supermotard, I had a 2006 ktm 450 exc, with the rims and gearing changed and Bridgestone 010 sticky stuff. Those brakes as standard specified 5.1 dot motorex fluid in the tiny master cylinder, and little single wavy disk. Obviously expected things to get hot! Soon (very soon) failed me on the local track, with more curve than straight, so lots of braking. Very tiring. Soon had them fading to non existence. Never, ever had a problem on loose stuff. Enduro, nick, locking up wheels, both front and rear, is an extremely common occurance. I won't be losing any sleep, if I have any problems at all, I might book a driving lesson with BSM
  12. Nick my dear man, it's not so black and white. I have six cylinder brakes because I have substituted weight for speed. Plus, the other modifications also make the vehicle much heavier than standard. The brakes will help me when towing for instance, a must with the 200 tdi swap and I have wider than standard tyres
  13. I can get a wide angle prop 35 degree for about 200 quid from the good people at wilsons Nottingham. The question though, that really does beg to be answered, is why was the prop phased on the discovery 200tdi as standard from the factory???
  14. Thanks. Been to the factors, several. Finally got the information from Famous four at Louth. So I have bought them. You are right, STC 3302 is what I have now ordered. It's a waste of time asking paddocks anything, seems like they couldn't care less. My old friend went in for some of the super duper ashcroft driveshats the other day, he's 70 and is terminally ill, and they turned him away because they said "computer says no" They do list ashcroft driveshafts, and they were in stock. They just can't be bothered. It's the Nottinghamshire miners accent, they hear it and automatically treat you like carp! He ended up ordering direct from ashcroft, and the receptionist did her best to get rid of him too, until he mentioned he wanted a locker and the whole works and finally processed the order. Disgraceful
  15. OK thanks. So in the same breath, am I going to be OK with the stainless ones or no? Thanks bowie 69
