  1. I am currently trying to get wiper blades for my series. I have upgraded to the PRC3384/85 wiper arms and can I find blades? Been everywhere, even rimmer bros counter can't find wiper blades. Paddock website a waste of time as usual, and permanently engaged. Chocolate fireguard. Anyone any advice please.??? just called brit car and they can't help either. Update... Quell bon surprise, paddock sans information. They just suggested that I went on a forum, UK largest supplier... the ordacity!!!
  2. The unpredictable braking is suppressed slightly by the power steering box. Also if you hit a bump or soft mud the steering wheel is less likely to be ripped from my hands, as was the case with the original steering

  5. I was wondering where to take the series for wheel alignment. I really don't trust the general muppetry in quick fit and the likes. Should I go to a land rover specialists? Thank you all
  6. Do any of you use lube injection at all with the lpg? My Renault has a landi renso set up, very reliable but I think the valve seats will be shot by now. 48ppl at flogas Nottingham. So very cheap running. (domestic is around 30 p)
  7. I must admit I have always thought that boost pins are a paradox, when the original can be played with and the pump fuelling. The standard turbo is robust enough to push more boost though. This driveability nonsense that is banded about is nonsense though. Like on the two stroke bikes and cars from the 80s with big turbos, if you get bogged down, slip the clutch a bit and get things whizzing. Driveability, no, poor drivers! You think this guy worries about driveability???
  8. Nearly missed a junction touching a tonne :-) his are the little ones though, on the little hubs. Standard 88 2a. These 6pot drum brakes look like more at home on a 3.5 tonner. It's got the mofo servo too. As pictured. When I bought this vehicle, it had an old single line master. It's the first thing I changed!!!
  9. Recently unmounted my tow plate from the rear crossmember. I had mounted it with some M12 x 130 stainless, but had a sinking feeling about towing the car trailer and us parting company on the M1 because they are not strong enough. Am I right, and should I get some grade 10 bolts to make double sure. Or are the stainless ones adequate? I am leaning towards getting some grade 10 high tensile, and appropriate nuts. Any input greatly appreciated thanks
  10. It's a belter. Same as what's towing it!!! Brian James trailer, WANT ONE! And the red defender
  11. Just replaced the front brakes on the hybrid, they are like truck brakes. I am wondering if this vehicle will really need a disc conversation with such large drums and shoes. My friends tdi series has the original 88 hubs and drum brakes on his 2a and just gets away with it. I have had them fade on me once, when braking really hard from speed.
  12. Sleazy jet, ha ha ha. Last time seen stavros was serving kebab post 1am ha ha ha
  13. True. I might just flat it all back to Matt finish yet with some scotchbright. Seen a few range rover's and evoke puke in matt green and they look smart
  14. Just seen this at the Rimmer bros counter from August last year
  15. Yeah a know nick, you told me I have the lt77 with ashcroft conversion kit. The 4:7 crownwheel is a different fit on the diff. It's a case of having to turn down the diff (ouch) to fit the profile of the 4:7. The bits are all here to play with if you want them mate. I would practice first on an old defender diff centre, before, just to see. Because of the wider crownwheel of the 4:7 the offset as you say is already taken up, no spacer required. It's down to the shanfer profile on the mating surfaces where the compatibility issues are mate.
  16. If you have big old fat tyres you need more than 4.7 if you are a serious off roader. I have gone for a compromise, because 99 percent of motoring is on black top. It's got an lt77 with ashcroft conversion for the series transfer box ( also no longer available) and I also want to run 85 profile tyres. So my gearing is tall. It also means that dana axle is up a bit more. No where near the ground clearance of a rover diff.
  17. That is the reason it's not listed for series. It's a 3:5 cwp. The 4:7 won't fit. Trutrack are cheap and cheerful, fit and forget, no compressor etc. Good reviews too. I would have preferred a locker. May get one for the front soon after I get a decent winch. It was price matched for me at rimmer bros the same as paddock. Think I paid 600
