  1. I'm looking for a workshop book or maybe a pdf file on a pto that fits an lt230 the easiest way if nobody minds me adding a file from another forum is to read that and if anyone has any info would be appreciated, ive spoke to a fella called Rob at LROE and he's going to get back to me but hasn't as yet and I suppose impatience has got the better of me as it would be nice to get at it this weekend, all the best guys

  2. Not that I'm going to get into a dispute about it, I was told this by Marlec, and this is my case only, all a controller does is basically short circuit when the battery is fully charged, and stops gasing and frying them, to get  rid of the dump, is to either get a hot water element (which is a good one) or some sort of zenor diode like you use to get old British motorcycles, the controllers you get don't do that, all the while your solar panels are up there doing their thing it's going nowhere other than trying to get somewhere, if that make sense and the power can go back to the panel and fry it, which then creates false readings, basically all the while the sun is shining that panel is taking it, giving out grunt and going nowhere, the diode will protect your panel and send it one direction, the dump, hope to god that makes sense

  3. Hello fella, I actually live off grid got solar and wind running different parts of my plot, I had the same problem and naturally thought its going to be the charge controller, after doing a bit of research it turned out, in my case anyway that I needed to fit one directional diodes in the live to stop it power returning to the panels, apparently, and I'm only spouting off what someone told me, if the power end up tracking back it will give you allsorts of readings, I've sent some photos of what they are with the number on it but it's so small I had to take two, hopefully you can work it out from the pictures, I think you buy 10 for pennies,

  4. I bought a spacer from vulcan bomber, looks well made, in his instructions it does actually say "now for the fun part" being the fitting of it, I gave up,far to fiddly, even bought one of those ratchets from Sealey still not small enough to proper get in there, I've got a cam belt to do so I'll whip the pump off and do it that way its got to be easier, but many thanks @vulcan bomber all the best fella

Perhaps once peeps have their shiny new plates and EGTs installed, we could collect and have a data sharing session? Defender model, engine type, speeds, gears, revs, workload, temps, etc...

I will fella, mines a way off yet, still rebuilding my engine, what with stops and starts in the progress and general carry ons of life, but I will get back about it all,

  6. I've got to be honest, I thought my 110s brake were good, I've recently jacked in driving hgvs for a living and started in the log trade, God knows why its killing me, never worked so hard in my life after sitting on my behind for the last 30 years, but I was all loaded up with my first load to deliver, honestly I got 300 yards down my lane to a T junction and it wasn't stopping, you know when you get that sweat on, frightened the life out of me, and I turned round and went home. brakes all done all round now all adjusted up, but like you or your MOT man said I think you do get use to your car what ever it maybe, its only when someone else brings it up that you start to notice, or your overloaded with logs of course
