My wonderful mechanic broke the VIN NUMBER plate on the brake servo into two. Where can I get a brand new one. Then I can have the new one stamped with the details that were there on it and re-rivet it back.

Sorry to hijack this thread. I have a def 110 which was originally a 2.5NAD & I have recently replaced it with a Def 200tdi engine. MyI have a salisbury axle with drums only. Don't know how many splines its it. Can I upgrade to a 200tdi/300Tdi axle? Do I need to change the rear propshaft? Wish there was a bolt on disc brake kit for the salisbury axle!

Hi!
I have added a Roverdrive DX to my LT280 transfer box. But according to the picture on their site the OD lever is near the diff lock small lever. However in my picture enclosed the OD lever is no where close to the small lever.
Followed everything, cannot imagine any thing is wrong. Can you guys please help me on this.
Picture of the lever.

Saw one on the new 2010 defenders, they are nice. Wish I could get one too. Does anyone know the part number?
-
Reb, do you have a picture of the overdrive lever? Or the GKN is electronic, unlike mine which is manual. Am having some problem in getting the lever in the right place, looks like I will have to bend it.

Transfer box is EP90 and the gearbox is probably atf in your case Prith (i think you should have an LT77 on yours). The boxes will thank you for the correct oil. I wouldnt worry about the seals.
Great Reb, Thanks will put EP90 in the gearbox and ATF in the LT77. My transfer box is the LT280 & I have added the Roverdrive Overdrive plus their LT230 Wedge shaped Transfer case cover.

do post some pictures

My previous Landy owner did not maintain the 110 properly and was putting engine oil into the Transfer box/gearbox for many years here in India. Now trying to put EP90 will be a problem as its too thin and I might damage the oil seals. What is the correct oil to be use for the boxes.

when i get five minutes i'll scan the back pages of the gas spring catalogue i have here, and get someone to add them to one of the posts. the details give extended length, stroke length and force (in N) per rod.
there is also a set of drawings to go with it for the type of end fittings.
some of them (audi's stand out) use a welded eye on the end, rather than a ball joint.
Thanks would appreciate it.

Are there any super heavy duty hydraulic bonnet stays that can open the bonnet with the spare tyre attached to the bonnet. Want to retain the spare on the bonnet, it just gives the 110 a better image!

They are mad to charge so much for a small hose, that too Britpart, any ways thanks for searching. Will try and get an equivalent here in India.

thanks very much again

Where can I get the Hose cyclone to air cleaner part number ERR1729. Could not find it on LR series. Any other place where I can get it.

Thank you very much sir, you have made my day. God Bless the landy community. Just a bit curious as to what this plug is for? What is its application? Is it to keep the oil from coming out of the rocker cover?
-
Did you fit the relay when you did the conversion? I left it off of mine when i converted the TD to tdi and just ran the glow plugs off of the key like on the old system.
Yes!

As far as I know its meant only for serious off roading when you have huge tyres. Not for highway driving at all.

Guys, on my defender 200tdi rocker cover, other than the rocker cover gasket, there is on the front and the back a small semi circle hole, which is located below the rocker cover, seems to be the cylinder head assembly, is that the place for the Engine block core plug? My mechanic says that those two semi circle holes need to be plugged, as oil is leaking from there. (See page 184 on the parts manual and you can see on the front and back of the head assembly there is a semi circle hole, which has a groove, looks like that grove is for a plug of some sort.
Can't find it in the parts book at all. Will try and get a picture. If anyone knows then can you give me the part number please.

My Defender 110, 200tdi glow plug heater relay is malfunctioning. Can some one please give me the part number for the relay & also the part number for the reverse switch on the Transfer box/ gear box.
Its a Def 200tdi with a LT77 & LT230.

Prith, i would think that a 1.6:1 box with an overdrive will give you a final gear ratio similar to that of a disco box (1.2:1). It could work quite well really, as some say that the overdrove on 1.4:1 box leaves it a bit overgeared. So I would think you will have plenty of grunt low down and a reasonable top gear for cruising.
Thanks Reb!

Is it possible to swap sold disc to vented cross drilled discs on my 1990 110? Does anything else need to be changed?
