I think you could start with a 6mm hole and enlarge in 2/3mm steps up to the required final size, make sure you have a decent centre punch to create a spot to start the drill in. I'd go with Silicone rather than grese although nothing is strictly necessary, have you considered self adhesive neoprene tape? its available in different widths and thickneses.....

I don't think you will get a realistic price, either offer to deliver at cost, if you still have a 110, subject to a set maximum mileage, or collect only........

Sorted with a short lead and two spade terminals connecting the two red/blue wires.

Nipped into town with headlights on and en-route got a strange buzzing noise from Dash (?) area, stopped at the shops and noticed the headlights were still on Ignition off ….lights switch is off, no other lights lit, headlight on/off and dip-switch work as normal…..weird! Any suggestions?

Thats what I meant, but the production records are accessed from the VIN.....

If its the original colour, your nearest main stealer should be able to tell you the colour from your vin number...

Where is the voltage sensitive relay for the HRW please? I don't have a HRW but would like to use the circuit and switch for a rear work light, can I change the relay for a normal one? What colour are the HRW wires behind the rear panel please?

I've been meaning to ask thi for ages.....
When I rebuilt my 90, I came across a small electrical component under the Offside (IIRC) wing, standard fitment attached to the loom, a small rectangular metal thing....like a small heatsink, what is it?
Cheers

I thought I had this sorted, but after 100 miles the gauge still reads full, damn it! Gauge goes to zero when ignition is off. It would be nice if it were a true reflection of fuel consumption!.....guess Ill have to have a root around tomorrow.....

Sorted! The specific earth had come off the terminal in the engine bay! Thanks to those who responded!
The joys of snagging a rebuild!

Thanks Ill give it a try tomorrow....

So, my total rebuild has been on the road a week and the fuel gauge has stopped working, its connected at both ends, sender and gauge. There are 2 wires on the sender, if I join them together should the gauge give a reading? Sender is Shi*tpart so i wouldn't be surprised if thats the culprit.....any suggestions?
