The serial no is 331149 so that would be an early one would it? The rest of it would make me think it was a late one!
-
Thanks again. Well its grey but the picture looks a lighter grey than my 9000's motor but maybe thats just the pic. The solenoid cover is curved at the edge and it looks to have a grey gear box!
I'll see if I can get a serial No. Is there a before and after point so you can tell which it is?
-
Thanks guys. How do I tel if it has the bigger motor? How long has the larger motor one been produced?
-
Well that's it really, Is a warn M8274 the same as an M8274-50? If not, what's the difference?
-
You want to make sure that the hub and the back of the spacer are clean when you fit them, Then Re tighten them a couple of times after a few mile's. After that you shouldn't have any problems.
-
The overall effect of spacers is exactly the same as extra offset on the wheel's. I am going to have another go at fitting mine this weekend and maybe moving the wheel arch's so I will post pic's to let you know how its gone.

Just bought a ground anchor from the good people at devon 4x4 and I am looking to make some brackets to mount it. First thought is across the front above the winch but its a bit likely to get hung up in the tree's up front. Across the rear would be good but I have my waffle's across there and it will make it a pain to get them out in a hurry. I thought id see if anyone had any idea's I hadn't thought about yet. Where have you mounted yours? Do you have any problems? Is it easy to get at in a hurry? Pic's would be excellent

Saley, Who peg'd your diff's and what crown and pin's were they? Looking to sort my gearing to go with the 35"'s plus peg at the same time!
-
Ive been trying the same thing, 35/10.50x16 on modulas with 30mm spacers and 3" suspension lift with +2" bump stops at rear. The answer is yes, they will rub on heavy flex. Well mine did, looking to alter the arch's and try again!

It was an excellent weekend and as you say I am still hyper about it, as I think most people are! Planning our next outing as I type, very much bitten by the bug, Just hope all events will be as good, well run and filled with as many friendly people as this one was. Your (and everyone else's) efforts are very much appreciated.
Very sorry to hear your bad news Niel and I hope things start to look brighter soon for you and your family.

So how many people winch'd up to the punch on the water tank and how many realised it was on a bit of bungie cord?
-
An excellent weekend, Im still smiling! Thanks to all that help'd in the organising and running of the event, as we all know, but dont always say, it would not be possible without a lot of hard work! I just cant wait to do another!
-
Im not really too bother'd from a driving point of view as I have a reasonable idea what my limits are and wont do anything that I dont like the look of although if you dont try and push them just a wee bit once in a while you'll never improve, Its just not doin owt stupid that matters! We will defo have fun. my main concern is having absolutly no idea how the weekend will run, what to expect and making silly mistake's that will lessen the enjoyment ofour weekend! Plus we are sure to turn up and realise we have all the wrong stuff!
See you all soon, I'll be the nervious looking one
-
Well im getting excited, Will be my mine and Marks first proper event and I dont really know what to expect but im sure you'll all go gently on us(yea, right!).
Is there anything I should know that I may not have forseen? Any advice is much appreciated!

Well after my weekend I have a busy week to get ready for 7 sisters.
I broke a few bits, A front and rear half shaft, pretty much ripped snorkel off, fair bit of pannel damage, and many many jobs to put stuff right that will be too long a list plus a few wrinkle's to iron out that have come to light over the weekend but we'll be there, lacking sleep but there!
-
Car 68? Is that our number for next event then?
-
Aye up Pikey, What you doin ere? And using part of my 90 to make the "thing" in your avatar!
I have ground a small amount out from the propshaft yoke's to give a bit more angle, then I ran a length of chain from the top of the diff housing to the crossmember that I added for the rear winch which will only allow the axle to drop till the prop just starts to rub. I then threded a length of the elastic from a bunge through the chain so it will gather up rather than hang down. This is a quick fix that will buy me some time to look into making my own prop when I have found out which U'J's are the right one's to give more angle.
Tho I must admit its turned out tidy and doesn't effect articulation at all so if it seems to work O.K. it wont be a high priority to change it!

I think Si was considering making some. I don't know if he considered it viable though.
Mo
Well im still looking for either idea's to make my own or somewhere to buy somit from.
Is there any way I can find out more?
-
I was gona strap the axle in the middle so it can still articulate but not drop on both side's!
-
why not make your own prop from a rangie rear? its simple...................
Tell me more?
-
If you do a lot off road, Take it off. You will never look back!
If an M.O.T. tester realizes it had one factory fitted he could fail you for it. Unlikely really tho, Just remove all traces and get it looking as dirty as the rest before taking it. Prob' wont even give it a second thought. Alternatively keep the bar so yu can refit it if you have any problem come M.O.T. time!!!

Has anyone done anything of this sort?
I've had problems with the radiator and intercooler on my 90 being blocked by mud! Has anyone any idea's what I could use as a screen to go in front of the rad' that wouldn't effect air flow normally but when it does get mud in it would be easy to remove for washing/cleaning?
-
Cheers Tonk. I had no idea that's what people do. I'll look into that, It sounds a better idea than having the prop working at such a bad angle!
-
I have a small problem with the prop on my 90 binding at full droop of the rear axle. I have a set of +2" shocks fitted. I had to extend my bumpstops because the tyre's were rubbing the rear tub. To try and get back the suspension travel I lost through the extra length bump stops I fitted Lowered shock mounts. This has got the articulation back to as good as it was previously.
The only problem is the prop binding when the axle droops fully (only likely if grounded).
So basically I was wondering what people do about this. Fit high angle prop? or Secure the middle of the axle to chassis to stop it dropping on both sides but still articulate? or Dont worry about it, its not likely to drop that far on both side's?
Any idea's?
Are 8274 and 8274-50 the same?

Im actually looking to buy it and trying to make my mind up how much to offer. I think if its the smaller motor one I have to be looking about £200 less to allow for a new 4.6 HP motor. Otherwise its very tidy and done little work. Trouble is im really not sure which it is!
