  1. If you do a lot of off road I found the best mod you can do to the washers is throw away the jets, Fit a T piece and then find a pair of spray bars from a peugeot 405 (local scrap yard). A couple of cable ties and they fit perfect along the wiper blade's, Get the water right where you want it and loads of it. Its the first mod I will do to any landrover I own in future!

  2. sorry guys, been flat out working and havn't spent much time on computer. I have just been running them at std landrover pressure on the road and they seem fine although I dont go far.

Elvis is right, The rims are 7" modulars.

Im not too worried about dirt rubbing the tube through as I can always pop new tube's in from time to time, I can get them without a problem. plus its only untill I can afford bead locks. I was thinking of drilling the vvalve hole a bit larger to allow the valve to go back in if they do turn. I will just have to puncture em to get em down after.

Has anyone tried the straight forward supplies weld on bead locks?

  3. Last night I broke the diff pin in the front axle of my 90. I plan on putting an ARB locker in the front and for obvious reasons would prefer to go to 24 spline. It just so happens I have a pair of 24 spline shafts from my 1994 range rover in the garage so does anyone know if these will fit straight in the 10 spline axle (of an F reg 90) with new 24 spline locker (I know I will have to change diff bearings)? Also will the C.V's swap from the 10 spline to the 24 spline half shafts?

    Many thanks.

    Steve.

  4. Having a few problems with pushing the tyres off the rims when running low pressures's. Had one pushed right off today and another going down rapid when a lump off tree root got behind the bead. I was running them at about 15psi, Is this an acceptable level to run them at? I am half tempted to put inner tubes in them but have had problems with pinching inner tube's when run at low pressure's. I will get bead locks when I can afford em but at the moment its not an option.

So the real questions are, Does anyone use inner tubes in these? What pressure can they drop to without problems with inner tube's? and whats the ideal off road pressure for a 35/10.50x16 fedima scirroco on a (slightly over weight) 200tdi 90?

  5. Excellent advise JST. The bit about keeping the lockers short for waffle storage is a good idea and I will deffo be using it. Thanks for that.

Well the compressor is in, Will take a pic later! I have got it behind the pass seat but kept it ip high and right over to the left as far as poss. It fits there like it was meant to be there. Coz I kept it up high and over it hasn't taken up any of my sandwich/water proof storage space and should be pretty much out of any water etc. Takes a bit of fiddling to get it just right so it sits neatly as high up as poss' without rubbing seat. Its also real handy for wiring the main compressor feed to the battery then the switch wiring runs behind the seats and then forward along the tunnel. I havn't had a job work out that perfect for a long time. I used some rubber exhaust mounts (think they are off a renault 4) similar to the mini "cotton reel" type, (About an inch long with an 8mm stud either end) to mount it. These have made it very quiet running.

  6. Cheers guys. A few people have mentioned behind the seats but I will have to check on space there coz as mentioned above I need somewhere for lunch and waterproofs! Battry box is a no go as thats been full of water a couple of times on river and bog crossings and will surely be worse on some of the challenge events I plan on doing, plus its crammed with 2 massive batterys anyhow! I am putting storage lockers in the back but the cage is not coming for another week so I dont know how big to make em till then but its a strong fav' to put it in one of them when they are finnished. Im finding it real hard to find space for everything in the truck cab after havin so much space with the hard top!

  7. Firstly, Im new in here so hello all!

Right. Im just in the process of fitting a rear winch to my 90 and was wondering if anyone had any photo's etc of the brackets/mounting points they have used. I have a fair idea of how im gona do it but looking for as many options as I can.

    Thanks.

    Steve

  8. i have just fitted a disco type 200tdi to my 90. The filter head will swap from a TD complete with pipe's to rad but I was in a hurry and couldn't find any so I chopped the flexy out of the original disco ones and brazed some hydraulic fittings in then joined em with made to length hydraulic pipe. the intercooler and rad pipe's I just extended with stainless pipe. I used an electric fan. as the original would hit the steering box and was too far back. cant think of owt else that was a problem except exhaust front pipe and bottom 4 bell housing bolts but I guess you have sorted them as there is no mention in your post. Oh and I used the temp sender from the 90 with an adaptor for a 2.5 petrol so it would screw in to the 200tdi them' housing.
