  1. The problem is not really the diesel, although the back plate is difficult to find, if you could find one it still wouldn't be straight forward. The problem is the fact that the lt77 in a landrover has a shorter bell housing than a Range rover or disco. It would be a much more straight forward swap to go manual to auto in a diesel discovery or r380 equiped 90/110 coz the box's are the same length.

  2. Oh yeah for those camping here is the website for the camp site:

    Holly Bush Park

knew i had it somewhere. They must be all of 500 metres from the entrance to the site and are right next door to one of my locals- the Holman Clavel- a lovely real pub.

Right next door to a Pub! Cant possibly camp there! Pubs are evil, evil places that serve evil, evil drinks! But sein as there's no other option I'll see you there bout 8 for a few beerz :D

  3. I have a whitbread cage on my 90 truck cab. Its a weld-on one but its fine. It does have cross bracing and it is much heavier looking where it is welded to the chassis than that one. I did speak to Malcom about the hard top one but he said the rear hoop was more for tree protection unless you fitted extra bars inside which would loose load space. Im sure if you want one with heavier mountings and cross bracing he will do that for you. Give him a ring, He's a tidy chap and im real happy with mine. It been used plenty of time's with no sign of bending!

  4. Yea, Jase is right. Extra fuel is good power but excess fuel will cause bore wash and less power in a few thousand mile's. Its a case of getting it just right.

I think Diesel Jim is talking about dual stage injection which is the norm on common rail injection diesels. It tends to put in lots of small amounts of fuel to along with the main injection. Its to try and make them run quieter and stop some of the harsh diesel knock that you get with direct injection diesels.

  5. That would be the one I fitted then. The one when you said "be really careful manouvering it in the casing..."

    Hmmmmm

sorry mate! Blinking thing was damn heavy.

PS you were right. I've never been to the walnut tree.

Na, Think its just broke. No sign of it being knocked anywhere along the pipe or owt. Its been pulled apart and put back together quite a few time's and its broke right where you have to bend the pipe to get it out the casing so I spect it had just had enough! One of them things!

  6. Yep, ARB. Pulled it out this afternoon and the copper (I think) pipe from the bulkhead fitting in the diff casting to the diff aint attached no more. Hence no lockers! Atleast its easy to fix. Bit of a bummer as I only had the two diff's out last week now the rear's out again. Never mind aye!

  7. Sounds like you guys had a good day. :) Was it anyone from here that I saw heading north on the A46 near Bath about 1845 as I came south with my caravan on heading back from 7Sisters? We did some waving. Pretty sure I spotted Neil in his Dacia heading that way too, too late to wave sadly.

    Chris

We saw a landrover with series front end and massive tyre's (think ive seen Dollythelw post pic's of it) on a a trailer near nexwport on the m4 heading for the seven bridge, I gues they had been to seven sisters!

As for not having lockers my rear is not working and air is coming out of the axle breather so we ended up doing the afternoon without any. Should have thought and swapped pipe's round, Would have atleast had a front then. Best go get the diff out so I can see whats happened.

  8. Yes, Thanks all for an excellent event, It was by far the most enjoyable one Ive done! Really cant wait to get out again. I have a bit of fixing to do first.

Does anyone have a pic of me on my side, would love to see any that are out there and I know there must be a few or were you just holding your camera's up so I couldn't see you laughing. :D

  9. Right, Landrover is sorted (well near enough for the weekend) bar the bits that I will be getting when we get to the event, which will be important as its motor and rope for the front winch! So I gora load up, sort my tent n stuff and i'll see you all there!

  10. Do i see a panic coming on over there

Don't panic everyone :lol::lol: leave that to me :P i may even look the motor over in the morning ;)

Yep, Lots and lots of panic, Nearly there but didn't finnish till 10 tonight. Got a couple of hours to do on it tomorrow but im working in the morning so I think I will av to av an early start and get it finnished before work. Then sort camping gear and drive down in time to fit the bits that Gwyn will be bringing. Not last minute in the slightest, honnest! :o

  11. The rain has been booked until 7.00am on Sat then from 10.00pm on Sat night until 7.00am Sunday :P

If I don't get what I ordered I want my money back B)

How much does it cost to book the weather? I might try and out bid you for sunshine and we can av a BBQ instead!

  12. Panic over, Gwyn lewis seves the day, bringing everything I need Saturday afternoon. He's a top bloke. Cheers all for offers of help and thanks Neil for the call.

Pigster, Yep, I stuck the post on every inter club challenge thread I could find coz things were a bit tense for a while but all sorted now.

  13. we didn't win a rope -- how come - - we got (haven't yet but) a hi lift jack instead.

must win another event and get some rope.. :)

We didn't get rope either, We had a high lift (a nice shiney one at that) think it was the std class that got the rope.
