  1. hi all, im not sure if I'm putting this in the right forum, i have the discovery series 1 lhp3 cd , which appears to only work on xp. since the last time i used it iv upgraded to a apple mac laptop an now it doesn't work. does anyone know where i can down load this to view only mac? my mac does not have the xp software on it either. I'm looking for the electrical diagrams and heating setup. the haynes manual doesn't help with what i need, and I'm told everything i need is on this cd . Any help and ideas would be awesome. got such a head ache at the minute with it all. many thanks chris

  3. hi all does anyone know where i can get the full wiring diagram for a discovery 200tdi . having problems with the heating system and air con and the haynes manual only covers little bits in the wiring diagram for a 200tdi. any help where i can get it would be a hugely appreciated. many thanks chris
  4. Hi all. iv just bought a discovery 2 ignition drivers door lock and matching key to go into my project vehicle. I understand you have to do the plip programming for the fo. To open an. Lock the vehicle but does this also progrm it to the bcu ? Also how do i get the code for the key to program it? Many thanks.
  5. its complicated to explain, I'm taking the little bits i need from the disco 1 loom i.e the heater wiring so that will work and fitting a disco 2 wiring loom as it has folding mirrors heated screen, heated seats etc etc, but i want to make sure I'm taking the right bits off.
  6. Im building a discovery 1 with a ls3 v8 engine. But most of the stuff i want is what a discovery 2 wiring loom has so im fitting a discovery2 wiring loom but for things such as the heater ill need to keep that wiring in hence why id need the diagram.
  7. I have the haynes manual. Just seemed to baffel my head. Plus a lot of signs im not formiliar with. Unless im too used to looking at discovery td5 diagrams ?
  8. hi all , does anyone know where i can get a simple to understand wiring diagram for a discovery 1 200tdi? long story as to why i need one, any help much appreciated regards chris
  9. im not overly up on fuel pumps my first thought would of been to use range rover v8 one but i wasn't sure ,
  10. Hi guy happy new year to all. Hopefully someone may be able to give me a little advice, what kind of electronic in tank fuel pump would you recommend using for my 6.2 v8 ls3 discovery, hopefully using the same discovery 1 tank. If not its no detriment, any advice is much apprieicated and any more info needed let me know. chris
  11. Iv replaced the waste-gate modulator, as i had a new one spare in the garage. but that great guys thanks for all your help. im going to get the seals today and get on with it, ill update if this is the issue. Merry Christmas everyone. thanks again
  12. Nothing seems to be coming up other than the egr which it doesnt have anymore. Its done 160000 ish miles. Serviced every 8000 miles. Never done injector seals in 4 years iv owned it.
  13. hi all , so i was driving my 2001 discovery td5 and when i went to accelerate over 2100rpm i had a judder occur, continual. it happened for a while then a couple of miles before home it ran fine. then happened again the next day, iv released the waste gate which was sticking, iv changed wiring harness on injectors, and cleaned the red plug, all is still happening, under heavy load its still doing the same thing , especially up hill. sometimes its a bit weird on start up as well on a morning now. also yesterday it happened up hill then as soon as i was on the flat and stationary it sounded like the engine was blowing a lot!! any ideas?
  14. I took it for a run with the nanocom plugged in an the waste gate reading ms in fuel reading section was between 0 and 30 when i floored it in 4th up hill. Is this a normal reading? Usually started around 2200rpm ish any below was 0 an sometimes read 0 in the 2200 plus if it did it.
  15. iv had the exact same situation today , I'm going to change mine tomorrow .
  16. hi all , yet again another thread, but about the td5 discovery this time, i was driving as normal yesterday and today and all of a sudden when i enter roughly 50 + mph it feels lump, the same sort of feel you get when you don't put enough gas on you get a jerky sensation, its more noticeable up hill, . also i couldn't get the vehicle yesterday to do more than 60 at 2200rpm. almost as if it went into limp mode. my first thought was maybe the fuel pump as i seem to remember a while back same sort of situation on a thread, would you all agree? is there anything else i could look for before spending on a pump that might not be needed?
  17. the gear box will be from a Camaro ls3 6L80e transmission, I'm told is a strong gearbox to choose that or the 4l80e but as i do a lot of highway driving I'm hoping the extra 2 gears on the 6L80e might drop the revs off ,
  18. hi thank you, i had already decided to peg them . trying to make it all as strong as possible. might be thinking a bit over the top about it all but i want to do it right first time
  19. my problem is, i know all what I'm wanting to do has been done, its just finding out what people have used and whats good on the market, but then when i get the advice i get mixed messages from people , and that make stuff worse, i know the standard diffs will just mash up , so just trying to get an idea on what everyone use. i know there will be more powerful or torquey engines than what I'm using so there has to be something out there that will handle it all.
  20. Im currently in the process of building a discovery 1993 edition, it will very soon have a LS3 500hp engine in it. ill be running 235/70/16 AT tyres uprated LT230 transfer box, im currently stuck as to what diffs to use. Iv been looking at the Ashcroft lockers but im not sure as to whether they will handle the power/ torque? any ideas guys? cheers
  21. hi all , does anyone know of a place in this country that makes input shaft adaptors, iv looked at a couple of places abroad and they all sell them as a kit only at over a grand, does any know of anywhere that sells them, its to mount a 6L80e transmission to a LT230 transfer box. cheers
  22. i honestly don't mind having to adjust it all, I'm looking to lower the ride height for road driving, something to be able to corner at speed, as less body roll as possible, I'm told the donerre shocks help with this, has anyone ever fit them and tried them?

  24. I could take photos not a problem , but all you will see is a newly rebuild front end of a discovery 200, iv built engines and land rovers before one thing iv never done is build one with modified suspension, id like to broaden what i know and suspension is something id like to advance on, iv done a lot of research on the internet and spoken to a lot of people and I'm getting mixed responses, I'm currently looking at donerre shocks to fit to the vehicle which I'm told are the best on the market for the kind of things I'm asking, its all fully adjustable as well. ideally I'm just after advice on what to consider when fitting it all so i can look into it and make sure I'm doing it right, I'm spending a lot on this vehicle ,i.e. bespoke interior, LS3 v8 etc , as ill never get rid so i want to do it right first time if that makes sense.
