  17. hi all.. my brother has a f-reg 110 2.5TD.. the engine got re-built god knows when (5years ago i think) but the injector pump was abit ropey.. in the past year or so it has been of the road and used as water tank carrier for the cattle. only doing 10 miles a month maybe more. i noticed it was starting to splutter and it got worth allso white smoke started.. today went to go fire her up and nothing.. but if you keep the engine winding over for about 20-30 secs it might fire up.. run for about 5 seconds and stop.. im guess the injector pump has deicded its had enought.. but i allso noticed on the air box engine oil sitting on top? so i pulled the turbo hose and it looked like the turbo was baithed in oil.. and so there air come out.. so was that.. i know 2.5TD have some blow back but i would think this is not good? here are some piccys.. anyone have any ideas on the pump? or if the oil maybe anythink to do with it? cheers sam
  18. hi chaps.. iv been doing abit of digging about on the tinternet about the ratios off the input gear, inermeadiat gear and center diff in a lt230 transfer box. at preasent i have a 1:222 tranny box on my defender and i have all 3 of the internals of a 1:410 box.. now if i was to change the 1:222 input gear and intermeadiat gear with the 1:410 input and intermeadiat gear.. would that box be back to 1:410 or is there more to that box then just that? will i have to change the center diff too? if you dont get my drift.. do i have to change all 3? or can i change just the input and intermeadiat? your help would be great!! cheers sam P.S haha who put "mind that tree!" under my picture.. good one... lol come on own up
  19. hi chaps.. i got a good deal with NFU on my 90 and im 18. but we changed over to Towergate and got a better deal £1.000 fully comp but that is 1 years no claims and im getting on 19 at the end of aprill!!.. im not sure what incurnce group it is though.. but before i got my 90 a had a series 3 88" deisel.. as a new driver at 17 the incurnce cost was about the same as it is now maybe abit higher.. and that was with NFU. cheers sam

  21. right.. does anyone know if there is any differnce in the main shafts of a LT77 to the R380 and if it is prossible to put a LT77 main shaft in a R380 so you can mate it to a 200Tdi engine? or are you able to shove a LT77 bellhouseing on a R380 box.. but the main shaft will be long if im correct? cheers sam

  24. chaps.. my hand brake at the moment has a the 300tdi discovery set up.. as i have discovery tranny box on.. i have a 300tdi handbrake unit. now the leaver end on the cable is differnt to 200tdi set up.. how do you fit the 300tdi one.. as you dont need the thingy to hold it on place.. do i just poke the rubber throught the hole but how is fixed down so its not flapping about like mine is now lol? cheers sam
  25. its had all new pads and cylinders all round. i allso swaped the front drums to the back and vice verser in the hope that the front might be that little more worn and will cure it.. well it did for a short while and its started doing it again.. all that pads have that 45% angle on top and bottom.. i think its the pad at the back of the drum that is catching on the drum as the chap at the top said about the front and reverser thing.. i think his right that may be the problem.. so the top going from the pad thats facing towards the front of the truck.. theres a spring going from the pad to the mub that pulls the pad back.. a chap i spoke to did mention that if you pull that spring thats on the hub take it off there and clip it on the hole on the rear drum and that may cure the problem if not then where going to try a new set of pads differnt make this time... unless any of you guys have any ideas lol.. thanks for that chaps.. cheers sam
