  1. My wife's farrier got a disco 4 just before christmas, he had it 4 days before it just stopped. She saw him the other day pull up in a nissan pick up got out and just said don't ask. After over six month landrover have not managed to fix his brand new car. he is still driving around in hire cars paid for by the dealer. He has said that it has put him of landrover for good if it ever comes back he is going to sell it straight off.
  2. I had looked at the terrafirma springs and shocks, they look quite good. where did you get yours from and rougly what was the cost. I've found some standard height i think for somewhere near £200 but as the vehicle is already lifted, I wanted to keep it that way.
  3. I know but for a car that will do 3000-5000 miles a year thats a lot to spend. Ill have to look around at some other kits as i dont think i can justify that no matter how goos it is.
  4. wow over £600 for a suspension kit, I wasn't expecting that much, I might look into somthing a little less pricey at the moment as i am not sure just how much off roading i am going to be able to do.
  5. I am struggling to find a price for the Old Man Emu products, so any idea of a rough price. Also would you use them for springs aswell as the shocks or mix in a different brand of springs with there shocks.
  6. I dont think i can get it to move that much but it wouldn't be far off. the springs are black and so are the rear shocks, not sure about the front. which kit would be best to replace it with as i know in time its going to have to be done. i am supose to be going away off roading in Aug and had planned on altering the suspension after that. If i do it before i'll only break something .
  7. I own a 1995 Discovery 1 Auto that has been lifted before I bought it by 2". the suspension seems really soft to me, but as this is the first landrover i've owned and it been lifted i am not sure. Can you possible tell me how much i should be able to mannully move the car be pressing down on the bonnet, if at all. If it matters road holding is not that important and i want the car to have a more offroad set up. Any help will be greatfully appreciated.
  8. there is a fair bit all over the car really so was going to tackle one place at a time. where is the best place to get the paint from. i know the paint number thats stamped under the bonnet.
  9. I have a few patches of paint bubbling on my disco, so i was going to rub these down and re paint them. My question is which is the best tool to rub them down with some of the areas are a bit tight. Is there anything wrong with my overall idea.
  10. thanks for the fast replies. ill check tonight so i can order a snorkel in a few days.
  11. Ive got a discovery 1 1995 300 tdi auto. I am wanting to fit a snorkel on the vehicle but the ones i want keep asking if the car has ABS or not, and i have no idea. appart from slamming on the breaks and telling that way is there any other way to check. the car is new to me and it didn't say either way when i bought it.
  12. Thanks for that its just what I was looking for. saved me a fortune
  13. ive tried that and i couldnt get it to work i was also thinking more of a book that i could take with me out to the car. id only end up taking the laptop and dropping that any way.

  16. Ive finally gone out and bought a discovery. Its a 1995 300tdi 5 door with an auto box. It drives well and after spending a while under the vehicle looking no rust that i can see. so really happy with it. No doubt at some time i will be on here asking for help,
  17. Im in the process of buying my first discovery a 1995 300tdi, and was wondering if there is any mayor difference between a manual and auto gearbox. the questions i have are. 1. how do they handle off road, 2. what is the fuel condumption difference 3. if it was your own money which would you go for 4. is there anything specific i should look for on a auto box, any strange noices etc ive never owned a auto car obnly drove a few miles in a car with one so not sure what to look out for, any help will be appreciated.
  18. I had one on a Y plate so a few years ago now I bought it second hand and had no end on problems, all electrical related. It was in the garage been fixed 7 times and i only had it for 7 months after that I got rid as it was becoming to problematic. The biggest problem was with the hill decent for some reason it engaged when driving normally and the engine would ref all the way to the red line even if the can was out of gear and my foot not on the peddle. After taking it to the garage they couldn't find the problem as it was intermitent and didn't do it the minute they plugged there testers in. On the other hand my father in law had a 51 plate and had no problems and has just bought a freelander 2 and he loves it. Maybe I just got a carp one. hope this helps
  19. I signed it, I'm not sure it will do any good.
  20. No Les My wife would kill me if I gave her that it just wouldn't go with her horse box.
  21. I don't care how in tune with your masculinity you are. there is no way any self respecting man would drive that horrid range rover. to be honest it is that bad i don't think even my wife would drive it.
  22. The outside maybe a little dodge but it is the inside that rearly has got me, could they have used a worst pink? it wouldn't be half bad if they had coulr matched it to the outside.
  23. That is one of the worst things you could possibly do to a land rover they should be a crime against doing that.
