  1. Hi everyone, i'm sure this has been done to death, but i can never seem to find what i'm looking for with the search function! does anyone have any 'blueprints' or diagrams etc on how to make a bio diesel processor for personal use? i'm thinking of making my own and wanted to know basically what parts and tubs etc i'd need. cheers in advance! CURLY
  2. he he fair doo's! let us know if you do though!! cheers, CURLY
  3. Hi there, did you ever find out what the tappy tap tap tap noise was? Curly
  4. would it make any difference if it was a 200tdi or a 300tdi then?
  5. and can you just put the veg oil straight in the tank then? or do you need to mix it in a drum first, then put it in? for example, could i half fill the tank with diesel, and then add the veg oil after?
  6. good grief, what a rip.. reckon i'll try buying some good old veggie oil from somewhere instead then.. but how do they know how much you use? this disco is costing me a fortune to run, but i love it.. i need to either come up with a cheaper fuel, i;e hydraulic oil or chip fat etc, or i'm going to have to sell it.. what about heating oil? 20 second heating oil? how much would that be? CURLY
  7. illegal? why's that? cos of the emissions? i can get used hydraulic oil for nowt, and read that these engines can run on anything from chip fat, to hydraulic oil and old engine oil! if i mixed half diesel and half hydraulic oil would that have enough lubrication, or would i need to add something else to it? CURLY
  8. anyone done or heard of this? i read somewhere that you can run it on 50:50 diesel and hydraulic oil.. ??????????????
  9. Mark did this to his 200 tdi disco, here's the link to his topic about it. loads of pics and 'what i did posts', hope this helps: side exhaust CURLY
  10. thats way out! i checked mine with my sat nav and at 80 on the speedo, i was doing 75. round a race track obviously.. can you rotate the center part of the speedo (needle part) if not, you could try putting a new dial in i spose? CURLY
  11. my impella on the turbo was well gunked up after i changed the head, so i sprayed some fuel system cleaner stuff in the airflow meter it as it was revving at about 1500 revs, and that seemed to clean it up and make it spin up a bit faster.. might be worth a try.. CURLY
  12. mine was seized solid too. took the center console out, drilled out the pop rivets that hold the gator on around the high/low lever, undid a few bolts, and took off a circlip, removed the whole top part with the slider in and had to hammer it out with a lump hammer! i gave the rod a bit of a wipe with some wet and dry, slapped a load of grease and oil on it, and its as smooth as silk now.. sounds like hard work, but didn't take very long at all. CURLY
  13. welcome Martin!! looks like those lanes you went down are pretty muddy!! where do you go? not sure where your oil leak is from though i'm affraid.. CURLY
  14. that looks much better! hopefully thats what will come in the post for me tomorrow.. cheers
  15. here you go Les, pictures of my crank pulley. i have just ordered a bearmach one from the very helpful blokes at Gigglepin. thanks for your help by the way, much appreciated! CURLY
  16. any chance you could email put up a picture of the bearmach one? bacause i think i'm going to buy one of those to be on the safe side.. cheers, Sam
  17. just called the guy i bought it from and he assured me that these are the ones he has been fitting in his garage for 10 years, and he has never had one go wrong yet. what should i do?
  18. mmm thought that might be the case.. should i send it back or should i just drill the welds out and use it?
  19. right, i boutht the modified kit off ebay and it arrived this morning. Les, you said 'The crank sprocket doesn't appear to have a welded-on washer' is that a good thing or a bad thing because i think this one that came today has.. there seems to be a lip spot welded onto either side of it. CURLY
  20. nice one, thanks Mark, are you going to put them on your green one too? gonna buy a load of these fittings and tube eventually, so if you guys need any bits, let me know. Cheers, CURLY
  21. ooo, we sell Camozzi fittings.. 1/8" bspp with o-ring elbows, but to what size tubing? 4mm, 6mm 0r 8mm? spose all i need is a couple of male x push fit elbows and a roll of tubing? CURLY
  22. i have a leaky inner rear wheel hub oil seal, so i took the plug out on the diff casing to add some oil and it blew a load of air out at me as if it was pressurised? could this be because the axle breather is blocked or something? with pressure in the axle, maybe thats why the oil is being forced out of the hub seal? or is it normal? i work for a company that can get hold of small pushfit airline fittings and tube, so i was thinking of extending them up from the axles, and terminating them in the engine bay if they are the problem, but not sure what size to buy.. i'll take the breather out later and have a look see.. maybe i could put a few 'axle breather kits' up forsale to members if all works well? B) cheers, CURLY
