  1. dedly job, would be great. Thanks.
  2. Hi people, I am trying to find a new roller fairlead cos the 2 horizontal rollers in mine are seized solid, and its all horrible and rusty but not sure where to find a new one, tried ebay but cant find any thing the size I need. Any suggestions? The hole cenetres for the two bolts are 390mm or 15 1/2 inches. Thanks, Graham.
  3. If you are careful with the welder you can build up some weld on the end of the bolt that is sheared then weld a nut to it while in position, leave the weld to cool a little then use a socket or spanner while its still quite hot and the broken stud usually comes out, ths is a tried and tested method I use on quarry plant and machinery that works for me. Graham.
  4. its a 99 td5, would I need a relay switch as well?
  5. Have decided that I am in need of a rear wash wipe on the landy, question is, are the wires there somwhere already or do I have to run new wires from the dash? Also I am presuming that I will need to fit another bottle for the water, from memory when I had the wash bottle out b4 there was no place for a second pump in that tank, another bottle at the back door would be easy to do? Thanks in advance for any help.
  6. I would agree with what others have said, tool might be a problem but always best to run a tap through the nut b4 you put in the bolt.
  7. use 1mm discs for all my stainless work, 2mm for the 9inch grinder. Dont try grinding with them unless you want a face off with a snarlin grinder
  8. I think they are 8mm thread bolt but the heads on them are not the usual size maybe 10mm head on them.
  9. look at page 6, 8th march, topic by Rustynissanprairie about rebuilding hinges would be very easy to do if you have the tools. Graham.
  10. its a discovery 1 cover. 380111039387 listed on ebay for £1.00
  11. Ok, I am back again, took another picture looking down directly on top of cover plate as best I could, printed, added sizes, scanned, reduced and now going to attach, jaysus, worked all day and did less. Bear in mind, my landy is ply lined with 3/8 ply so you will have to add 10mm per side to each measurment respectivly. I suppose you can get a cover from your nearest main dealer, which Disco model it is I dont know but at only a fiver a pop, thats what the man charged me. Graham.
  12. I took picture for access to fuel pump. Have to drill out the rivets for strap on floor, I can add measurement later if you want. Graham.
  13. I had the same problem not so long ago, fuel pump got very noisy and had to be replaced, £250 I think for new pump. Man who did mine cuts a hole in the floor and fits disco fuel tank access cover to save dropping out the fuel tank, its cheaper and saves time draining all the fuel from the tank so you can drop it. £5 for access cover. Then got ecu about 2 weeks later, wallet busted........
  14. added this to another message, in the for sale forum there is a pinned messge about ebay, something about fat fingers, any way there are some doors there that might suit you, have a look. Good luck.
  15. in the items for sale forum there is a pinned notice about stuff for sale on ebay, 2nd from top. Any way I was looking there and there is two rear doors, look silver colour in the west midlands, item no 300300695736, 2006 year. Good luck.
  16. I saw some where on fleabay when was having a flick through yesterday, two wings and bonnet made from grp for £200. Might be of interest to some one with postage weight to consider? Also would not dent and be flexible and easy to repair.
  17. I hope the picture and quick sketch I made of my home made rock sliders is some help. I had some comments about some people removed the ally sill below the door but for two reasons I did not do this, 1. I go off road but not so much in the serious way some do. 2. I was using 80 x 80 box and did not want box protruding too much from the side of the vehicle. I used stainless steel that was left over from a special order job and would be in my way. I still have to add a couple of bits too mine yet, just not had time, some anti slip bars at the doors and the laser cut bit with defender cut in it. The next time I have the tig plant set up at home I will do that job. I added the ally on the sills the other, I drilled the hole in the outrigger before, it would not be possible now. the sizes might be helpful at any rate.
  18. I tried flash with bleach and the womans special brush for cleanin the juicer, got caught, got the rollickin, lucky my supper not in the dog. Have some large cookin apples, they clean the pan, if I cook some and spread on the ally might do job too?
  19. I have a sheet of chequer plate which I have been cutting and folding at to fit on to various places, but I think because its been at the back of the garage outside over the winter and the sea breeze here hits the back of the house it has marked the sheet and I just wanted to clean it up a bit to take the stains off before fitting, maybe soap and a good blast from pressure washer will do it.
  20. anyone got any tips for cleaning chequer plate?
  21. I used to have a seally one which was cheap n cheerful and got the job done if thats any help. All the formers should be supplied with the tool.
  22. I have to agree about the bosch stuff, I have a drill, jigsaw, angle grinder, torch and 2 impact wrenches all in the 14.4 range, all good but the impact wrench is S.IT HOT in my opinion, fitted 200 window grills in a prison with 12x 10mm x 100 long fixings in every one, screws in hardwood decking, easy, screws in softwood, easy, bolts in purlins, 12mm done n dusted and tec screws in roof sheeting 3 screws to every one the 110 tool made for doing them, absolutely brilliant tool.
  23. I have a bosch one, 14.4 volt, not powerful enough what you have in mind but the bigger ones might, good battery power for the one I have, did you consider an electric one? I also have a hilti 110 volt one which is very good.
  24. I have a CP one I think its for chicago pneumatic, needs good compressor tho.
