Hello Ron, emailed the club though your website, no reply yet (only emailed yesterday) it says taxed vehicles, my 4x4 is on a trailer, so not taxed, is there any problem with this, I'm sure I'm not the only one with non taxed vehicle,

  4. Hi all

A mate at work has a problem with his disco, on his way back from a laning trip he stopped at some traffic lights to turn left

Pulled away but couldnt turn left, when travelling at speeds of and above 25 mph all is well,

below that speed he cant turn lerf at all.

Hes disconnected steering, wont turn left

Hes removed diff, all seems ok

Hes removed drive shafts cv joint seem ok

Steering turns left until you fit drive shaft then locks up

    Any ideas?

if you cant turn when your at standstill with the two short shafts in sounds like cv joints, when you say disconnected steering what do you mean? and were disconnected? make sure your steering damper isnt full of mud this can cause this sort of problem.

    regards

  6. I'm at work and havent a size chart with me so I don't know if they go big enough, but the best tool I have used for holes up to 1.5mm steel and 2mm ali are Q-Max punches. Just drill a hole to suit the allen screw, then use the punch and you get a super burr-free hole. Do a search for them on Google.

must agree with above q-max punches are very good. holes saw would be top of my list to use, just because i have some, any one in poole area are welcome to use them.
