Hi Greg,
Welcome to the forum. it doesn't say on your profile where you are.
There are plenty of land rover specialists, perhaps we could point you in the direction of someone?
cheers,
mike

Personally, depending where you are in the world, it would be cheaper to make it a convertible.

123d from autodesk, lego mindstorms and land rover repair should be on the national curriculum... I'm only half joking

I've seen a version of the welding one at Oxford uni about 9 years ago. they had problems with gas getting trapped between layers... it was horrendous in terms of vaporized metal too... still amazing to watch.
As for the eos, the parts are amazing, just like normal pressed sintered parts.
14 years ago the FDM machine from stratasys cost a cool 300k... we had one at uni. in 20 years the eos machine will be churning out land rover parts for us... learn how to 3d model now

Seen this in the metal, scrap iron!!!!!
a little wd40 and a wire brush and you have yourself a bargain! lol

i do actually like that!
it just needs this for a little more raw aluminium-ness
Who would do that? Plus $500 is a little steep!

welcome to the forum, where are you in the world?
there might be someone local to show you an assembled door..
cheers,

Throw the naf drum brake away and get one of these!

Erm, is it corrosion on the bulb holder...?
Its what I always look for on a Land Rover.
-
I thought that polished 110 was a demo vehicle made by land rover... to show it was made of aluminum.

why should the fuel producers be tax collectors ? thats the governments job,
Hmmm... it is a backdoor method of privatization, it would be a leveler and everyone would have to pay it.
I have a feeling it's a bit of a cash flow accountancy scam by our illustrious chancellor, it means that he'll have a monthly pot rather than a six monthly to a year and he'll be charging us 5 pounds a year extra!
APNR is frankly scary, we do a system at work and it can filter number plates at a rate of knots.
It does concern me a little that we don't have anything physical in the car to show that the car is MOT'd and Taxed.
I won't miss the stupid design of the tax disc... whoever thought that all those perorations was a good idea wants good talking too.

That's terrible, awful weather up there. Hope James and all our friends up north are okay.
-
Colchesters are okay in general, though you might struggle with the swing on that bantam...
I prefer the student or Truimph.
I don't like the new ones, sheet metal is no substitute for the castings they used to make the old ones from. Weight is your friend on a lathe.
There are a few thread in here about lathes.

Can someone please explain the rarity of this part??
I got 1 in my workshop and a local engineering works will turn me anything I want pulley wise out of a billet for about €60.
"I am not an expert" from the description... he only needs to find another not an expert!

Anyone know how to fit a defender door easily? Whatever I do the flaming thing doesn't go on straight or close nicely!
-
Cracking! That's great news.

Have you seen the price of the little white plastic clips? When I re-sealed the sunroof I broke the plastic clips taking the finisher off , best price I found was over £30!
I think the trim is expensive because not many people replace it... lets face it, if it falls off in a defender a bit of duct tape doesn't look out of place!
I only bought my trim piece because it was raining from condensation on my head and none of the other solutions I tried worked that well.

Yeah, they're not riv-nuts or nutserts; I've got them up the yingyang...
It's not for anything heavy.
I'll get some to try.

I need to mount a bracket to my seat box, has anyone used these fixings before?
I want it to have as little vibration as possible, do these work?
Thanks,
Mike

So sorry to hear that.

You have to use the rubber, nothing else fits in the groove. Everything else looks weird/bodged.
The problem, they are £70 a pop...

Try replacing the relay, fortunately I've not had this on my Defender. I have similar on other cars.
I've found that if you replace something in a "system" like this then the next weakest component fails...
Cheers,
Mike
