  1. Ive got an after market alarm with remote starter on my d1 and it locks the doors when I press the brake and unlocks when i turn the engine off, its an anti hijacking feature that is standard on lots of alarms/starters these days.

  2. This morning at work a modified disco pulled into our yard at work asking when the parts factor that is on our grounds was opening, I told him about 15 mins and he said he would be back. About 20 mins later he along with another disco and 2 defenders pulled into the yard, took up about half a dozen spaces and half blocked the access. Everyone got out of the vehicles and stood around chatting while a couple of them went to get a water pump for the disco. I could see the boss was getting abit annoyed that they were there but he didnt say anything, until ............ 1 of them decided to take a leak by the side of his disco icon_e_surprised.gificon_e_surprised.gificon_e_surprised.gificon_e_surprised.gif . Why do people do this? T**ts like these are the reason people with modified 4x4s are so hated in Wales. icon_evil.gificon_evil.gificon_evil.gificon_evil.gificon_evil.gificon_evil.gificon_evil.gificon_evil.gificon_evil.gificon_evil.gificon_evil.gificon_evil.gificon_evil.gificon_evil.gificon_evil.gificon_evil.gif

  3. If it came with a cat/cats from the factory then yes it needs them for the MOT and disco are tested in class 4 just like any other "people carrier" type vehicle.

Class 4... Cars, including 3 wheeled vehicles more than 450kg unladen weight, Taxis, Minibuses and Ambulances up to 12 passenger seats, Goods Vehicles not exceeding 3000kg Design Gross Weight (DGW), Motor Caravans and Dual Purpose Vehicles

Yes they are class 4 but a 7 seat vehicle is NOT classed as a passenger vehicle therefore only needs basic emissions test the same as if you present a vehicle running on lpg. Also just because a vehicle left the factory with a cat fitted it doesnt mean it needs it for mot, if it doesnt require a full cat test it doesnt need a cat.

  4. Mot regs and police regs are 2 different things. On spark ignition vehicles that need a full emissions test need a visual check for a fitted cat, if its not there it fails. Compression ignition vehicles have a smoke density test not a full emissions test therefore do not require a check for the cat. The mot guide method of inspection doesnt even mention a cat in the compression ignition emission section therefore its not a testable item.

  5. I have one of these at work:

I didnt pay anywhere near that price from my local tool bloke but its the best bit of kit I've bought in along time. I used to use one of the clamp type that you have for on car work but it was a pain. These new ones are realy simple and you cant make a mistake with them.

  6. Thanks JeffR, I'll definately try that.

I was wondering if it is the cheap Clarke tool also. When it clamps the pipe I am left with a gap even when tight, and then when forming the flare I have a little lip on the reverse which probably doesn't help.

This is the one that was leaking a lot, and I remade it.

The pipe you are using is 3/16 and you have the pipe in the 5/8 hole that is why it is not clamping tight and leaving a gap.
