  1. Working on the front suspension, planning to fit a front anti roll bar to my 130 Tdi Stationwagon. The only aftermarket one I do see is the BA 032. Does anybody at the forum fit one to his Defender? Would like to have some feedback before ordering one, cheapest price so far GBP 101+VAT. http://www.mailorder...pension_17.html In design it does look different to the OE fitted ones with ball joints, do not see those on image? Cheers Marco
  2. Thanks, so I guess LR upgraded to a more durable design with wider bushes... Cheers Marco
  3. Hi, does somebody know the difference between NTC6781 and NTC7307, both radius arm bushes. According to the manual one is pre LA944441 but are they different at all? I'm still tracing down my wheel judder problem and it looks like my genuine bushes (fitted last Spring) are completely worn (I can move arm towards bracket with a screw driver). Which is very strange, no high mileage or off roading. So plan to replace those once more.... Cheers Marco
  4. Thanks, very helpful. Will contact Devon first for spares, I did buy the unit from them. Cheers Marco
  5. Hi, Just back from a trip to Italy, my GKN overdrive does transfer oil into the transfer box and I do have to fill it up every xxx miles... Trying to get rid of this leak (and the one at the intermediate shaft), will probably replace bearing and seal as suggested in this post (last year) http://forums.lr4x4....st=#entry267771 Main question, part numbers. Does somebody has a parts list / exploded view image like the LR parts catalogue available? Cheers Marco
  6. I've checked the steering UJ's, they seem to be fine as I can not feel any play on them. I did replace them +/- 30.000 km ago (non genuine ones). Might replace them with genuine ones, just to take out that possibility... Cheers Marco
  7. Hi, I do have the same puzzle... can not find the source of the steering wobble, swivels, new, propshaft no play, adjusted fw bearings, wheels have been changed, track rods fine, bushes genuine LR recently replaced, today new MOT etc. etc. By now I do wonder if my new yellow front springs (Britpart) might have something to do with it? The problem started after the spring + shock + HD turret change but so far I did not see that possibility listed in the replies / possible causes? My vehicle starts to wobble around the 83km/h mark, +/- 53mph. Cheers Marco
  8. I've got a similar problem and just noted I did refit the front propshaft the other way round (last Month) so with the sleeve towards the gearbox and not towards the front axle. Presume that might cause my problem as swivels, bearings, track rod ends and bushes are all fine. Just wondering why the propshaft can cause severe judder/shaking of the front wheels. Is it just a matter of being out of balance and transfering that vibration to the font axle? Cheers Marco
  9. I do have the same problem, checked all can not find anything wrong except the fact I did fit back the front propshaft the other way round (about a Month ago). So with sleeved section towards the gearbox in stead of the towards the front axle.... Guess that might be the source of my problems? Will take it of and inspect UJ's + fit back, it might fix my steering wobble... Cheers Marco
  10. Thanks, at this stage I will probably try to seal it first, I'm a bit afraid to weld it as there are some signs of previous welding job(s). Not sure about the thickness of the metal and a bit afraid of welding a bigger hole into it. I've found the post on replacing the pan on this forum, probably try that at a later stage. Cheers Marco
  11. Hi, Trying to fix some leaks.... this one is the front differential pan. Are there any 'temporary' sollutions to fix such a leak? Best would be a new diff pan or axle casing but right now I do not have to the time to start such a project... Will sealant do? Steel Putty? Any advice welcome. Cheers Marco
  12. Thanks, that bolt (at my box it's a stud & washer + nut) does leak / is covered in oil. But not sure if that oil is coming from above or through the tread of the stud as the whole section from intermediate shaft to bolt / bottom cover plate is covered with oil. I presume it's the shaft + probably the hole in the casing being oval... I've send Aschroft a message, maybe they have a short cut / remote instruction how to sort this one. Being a recon box with 20k it should not leak IMO (leaking since 15k or so but getting worse). Cheers Marco
  13. I've been searching the internet and did find this posting: http://www.aulro.com...shaft-seal.html It looks like it's not a very easy job. Definitely not as easy as on a series Landy Cheers Marco
  14. Tony, did you replace the o-ring on the intermediate shaft and did that solve the problem? Cheers Marco
  15. Thanks, guess you are right. Cleaned underside today. Could it also be the o-ring on the intermediate shaft or the seal in between the main box and the transfer box? (as illustrated). Not sure if those are normal leaks? Cheers, Marco
  16. Hi, The transfer box on my Defender does have some bad leaks (sea image). I've replaced both front and rear oil seals + flanges. Using quality parts and new flanges. The rear one is fine, front not sure if that's the evil one... The unit is a replacement one build by Ashcroft. Mileage 20.000 miles / 32000 km. As it's diificult to find the leak hopefully some one can advice e.g. which other seals or gaskets I bshould check / or do normally devellop leaks. Or any other ideas to get rid of the leaks? Checked the breather pipe and that one is OK. Cheers Marco
  17. I've adjusted the front wheel bearings and have been driving the vehicle today. It has cured the problem on my Land Rover. Cheers Marco
  18. By now I've removed some play at both L+R front wheel bearings. Not sure if that's curing the problem, will have to test drive first.
  19. Hi, after replacing the front springs, shocks and spring turrets my Landy developed a bad front wheel / steering wheel judder at 82km/h. Not sure if it's caused by something else but as nothing has been changed I wonder it the spring change has something to do with it? The last time I did have similar symptoms the track rod ends on my 109 were badly worn. Those are still fine on the 130. What else to look at? Swivel play/wheel bearings? Cheers Marco
  20. I do have Old Man Emu 754 springs at the back and they are fine. Much more expensive but probably a better choice. Do consider to replace mine with 755 as 754 is a bit to stiff for my 130 (light load stationwagon). Cheers Marco
  21. Thanks, this could be an alternative for the OME springs, +/- same price range.
  22. I've been comparing some choices... - Britpart DA4208 435mm and 420lbs/inch (the same rating as the OME 754) +/- GBP 60.00/pair - OME 755 435mm and 300lbs/inch (same height but lower rating than BP DA4208) but probably a much better product +/- GBP 150.00/pair Question, why is OME so expensive... because the are imported? Looking at the 754's fitted right now they probably last much longer and do not sag like BP's will do... guess that's my answer. Cheers Marco
  23. At this stage just only the OME 754 springs. It might be an option to fit helper springs together with the HD Britpart ones but prefer to fir a basic single spring. I do not have the helper ones so will need to buy them if I decide to go that way. OME 755 sounds like the right choice but because of the price bit of an expensive gamble.
  24. I do have a 130 SW... NRC6904 and NRC6389 are to weak, the look fine when fitted but after a while not strong enough for the contstant load (started off with those). On the first image you can see the vehicle on Britpart HD springs, not sure about how they relate to the LR HD ones but would expect the same rating. OME 755 might be a good alternative, but GBP 74.75 per spring is a lot of cash... Cheers Marco
  25. Thanks Western, .... searched the other forum, checking my own posts!: http://www.landroveraddict.com/smf/index.p...86329#msg186329 so yes, 754 confirmed! Which +/- slightly cheaper alternatives are available besides the OME 755? Cheers Marco
