  1. Well John, I went to the link and signed up. Logged on and did everything I could to try to get the video to play. What is the secret? I thought that once I was a member, all I would have to do would be to click the "Play" arrow. Nothing happened. Then I went on to click almost everything else I could find that had anything to do with the subject. It must be a computer thingy. I don't get on so well with computers. Greg S
  2. Is it for sale? Of course! How much do you want to pay? I'm not sure who owns it right now or if they were thinking of selling, but..... Derek! You finnally joined too I see. It's about time. Now about that coffee......Do you want me to bring a thermos of it on the 3rd or were you thinking of sooner than that? And didn't I read something somewhere about you pulling your ride apart in the near future to do some major work of some kind? Will it be back together or not taken apart yet for the Copper Canyon run? Mine won't be back together yet but I expect I can catch a ride with someone. Greg S
  3. There is a Camel Trophy 110 in the Vancouver area. It is in need of some TLC but aren't they all. Greg S
  4. A buddy has 265 85 16's on a white 8 spoke with no mods and they work fine at 33" with Para's. The Para's give more lift so changes the point the arc of the tire contacts the spring and chassis when turning. He then added a 2" hanger lift and fit 1 ton shackle. This lift made his steering lock even better. I have seen a series with "Q" 78 16's (35") and I think all they did was cut fenders a bit with wider off-set wheels. I'd add a picture of it but don't seem to be able to find out how. Try going to www.roverlanders.bc.ca then to the "Gallery" then down to "North West Challenge" then open the "NWC2001 album" check out "Eric-N's-wild-ride" also pic # 40, 41, 42, 43, 63 & 65
  5. What size tires can you fit? I've seen 35" diameter tires fitted but they had a wheel that had a bigger off-set than normal (a mangle wheel?) and the fenders were trimmed a bit. There are also pics somewhere (maybe the LRE forum?) of Land Rovers in Iceland with 44's. So, how much work and expense do you what to go to? 109's come standard and did for decades with a 32" tire. (7.50 x 16 also 235/85 x 16)
  6. I found Para's such an improvement that I'd happily pay the extra for the springs and wouldn't care anymore if the price of fuel went up.
  7. Science type program on TV a week or so ago was about CO2 and global warming. It suggests that due to the present amount of CO2 in the atmosphere, grasslands are prolific and forests aren't growing as well. They have very good data to support this. They think this is happening because the CO2 level is LOWER than it should be and LOWER than it was in the past. CO2 is, of course, plant food. Go figure eh? Next they'll be telling us that salt on our food isn't bad for us! (Oh, they already did.) Or that margerine isn't really better for us than butter. (Oops, they already did.) Well, at least no scientist will ever tell us that beer is good for us. (You say they already have? And wine too!!!) I give up!
  8. The improvement with Parabolics is so great, why would anyone even consider putting normal springs on? I replaced my 1 year-old regular springs with Rocky Mountain Para's (and new shocks) and couldn't beleave the IMPROVEMENT. Greg S 1970 109 SW (with Para's)
  9. I noticed that echo! I've got no beef with any site but I would rather be where there is comraderie and helpful postings. This site looks familiar and so do the names. Names I equate with mature and helpful postings. I'll wait with baited breath for some info too. Greg S Vancouver Island
