  1. Hi

I have had the same problem with the "lift up handle" type doors

I got some of ebay a few months ago but carnt seem to find any info now but they were britpart and did fit and work

Anderzander of here emailed me the link in an email maybee its still in his out box hint hint

edited to say im 99% sure it was landrover-orphanage of ebay who sold them to me

  2. Oh my God a P-Way spanner ---ker  The bane of my life--- Operations Manager Network Rail :P

    Keith

    grrrrrrr

im a signaller bluddy om's and p-way the lot off you just go away and let me watch my ..................................

  3. Well, they're not doing any better...

Still no response from LRDirect.com, so I phoned their parent company K Motors at lunch time. They insisted they couldn't do anything as LRDirect is on a different site and they can't even phone them themselves, but said they would email them and get them to call me. Needless to say, I've heard nothing from them

I'm doing my best to sort this out amicably, but it's looking more and more like I'm going to have to get my credit card company involved

They are talkin out of there backside. I have seen them sort there orders out for the web site and talked to them about it I will but my house on the fact the guy who answered the phone packs the boxes too.

The only reason they could have said that is if there havin a supplier deliver to you direct.

I would be fuming if it was me there is no excuse for bad customer service

  4. K Motors / LR Direct is my one and only - surprised to hear any complaints at all. I've traded with them for about 19 years on three sites, and it's been handed down in the family once!

They have had three numpties on parts in the last three years, but Ralph is a sound chap and Barry does part numbers from memory.

I use K motors a lot Ralf is a star... but Barry is an ignorant get who puts me off using the firm all together.... he should just play with the VW's that he obviously prefers

  5. i was at there trade counter today everything seemed fine.

they are usually quiet good there only downfall tends to be if something is not in stock then I think things get mixed up in the system.

after re-reading the first post I dont understand why they say i is pointless ringing there parent company as there is only two guys doing the parts counter and internet part I would dare to say it would be the best way forward.

Failing that I have to go down on Tuesday to get some stuff so if I can help

  6. Its just the otherside of garstang. I know it to point out but not sure how to explain it ...

I'll look on a map and give you a ring - or I could take a drive up there with you?

    Ok nice one

we can sort it out sunday?

  7. I took mine to a lorry park and used their ramp and cleaner.

They charged £25 to an artic to use it - they let me use it for free. Very dirty job! but a good opportunity to really get it clean underneath.

Which one did you use fella?

I am thinking of doing mine next week

  8. Weird, my MOT man updated the DVLA computer first MOT after the engine swap.

my mot guy did the same for the colour after it had been resprayed.

    thanks for all the advice.

    my options seem to be.

get a new box ala fridgefreezer which is a few £££££.

keep my lt77 box and change the shaft, bellhousing which is a lot less spendy but will constitute a big learning curve and time. I just get a mental picture of a big pile of cogs and springs on the garage floor

I am tempted to go the new box route but that involves selling some of my beloved junk ( any one in the market for a gkn overdrive) and replacing it with stuff for the job over a couple of months.

    Thanks

  9. ok cheers guys a little more research for me to do..

the lt85 looks the cheapest option but what are they like to live with.....

Fridgefreezer's option looks like the best to live with.. was that somthing done to order for you or are they out there somewhere?

looks like my bonus is going to be spent on a new gear box ;) ;) ;)

  10. 4 speed auto, no need to worry where the gear lever is then :P

Yea I see what your saying, I have no experience with auto boxes I have done a few other engine and box changes. I wouldnt have the faintest idea what to do with the kickdown cable for example, butchering the gearbox tunnel is no bother, what happens with regard to the probs will I be able to get the tbox into the same place or get made-to-measure props.

some might say if i am asking silly questions like this i should not be doing it but got to learn some how

    thanks
