  1. Rob, your frame looks a long way back, is it as far forward as it would normally sit with the cage installed ? Could be why the tabs foul the rad ?

    Mo

All I have done is bolt it in the 3 places

one bolt onto the bulk head and 2 to the chassis.

The engine side of the frame bolts to the bulk head and the other bolts line up so im asuming it sits where it should. it looks a little low to but as I have no bonnet to see how it would sit at the minute...

I need the tabs to use bonnet pins but fear my radiator wont last long

so its a case of move the tabs or move the radiator.

I would like to fit a full width intercooler and a 8274 so I might look into chopping the cowling about and moving every thing back a bit?

won a kenlowe fan for £40 over the weekend so I might have a plan ??

the anoying thing is im on 2-10 for the rest of the week so wont be able to touch it realy till sunday

  2. Cheers steve I do have a roll cage to go on.

I was just looking what they look like and ended up with a few questions.

I was meaning where the old wings bolt to the bulkhead? it leaves 4 big holes each side, maybe weld a plate over them? or cut 4 little plates and weld them into the hole?

what did you do regarding the bonnet catch?

  6. I run a home built in car PC with touchscreen running XP with Memory Map, Tom Tom (on a pDA emulator- which really doesn't work very well), PC navigator, X-nav and X-port to spread the GPS signal to more than one program at a time. i also use the in car PC with an external HD carrying about 100gb of MP3s. Cost of PC was about £300 and it is permantly installed into the Vehicle with the base unit hidden and the screen being quick and easy to remove and hide!

when out and about i run a HTC Tytn 2 PDA with TomTom and Memory Map for the PDA.

    Hi Jim.

could you tell me a bit more about the PDA emulator as I would like to use a tablet but miss tom tom to much so thats why I stick with a PDA over anything else

  7. Cool thanks guys. Many many solutions. I am still undecided but heading more to a single item solution with a laptop backup at home for designing , plotting and saving routes.

    Cheers TJ

    Hi

Thats what I do have a laptop with memory map with all my routes on and I bought a hp pda. HP have a shop on ebay and I got a returned and refurbished pda for less than £100 with warrenty, got a copy of tomtom for free ;);) and put that on the pda so I now have both memory map and tomtom on the pda for not a lot of money

  8. But you'll be doing oher races if you don't make Ladoga?

I still want one, I know you'll be crawling out the lab before you 'give up' :)

Don't forget that 'I need' thread last year got an excellent reaction - if you end up missing anything anyone might have contacts for... I can do driving for picking up etc. to allow optimum lab time B)

If he's not likley to eat the cat we'll have him, 'fraid Dan won't let me get rid of the cat :(;)

    I must agree ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

    I still wont one

  9. Rob90 im unsure whether that applys to car battery's as they are different to others like your mobile phone battery.

i know your mobile battery should be charged to the top then COMPLETELY drained before recharging, as just top up charging seriously shortens the battery's life.

I didnt mean to completly discarge the battery that would be just silly having said that my logic was along the lines of...

    A) sencond battery conected to split charge system used rearly, always fully charged and getting small charge constantly from the alternater.

B)getting some use from the assesories and being topped up.

Just seems logical that the battery would benifit from some regular use rather than only used once in a blue moon,

  10. I dont know if the way I do it is right but I run my lights, fridge, heated screen etc of the second winch battery, so the battery gets some use i.e. gets drained and recharged, as apose to just sitting there watting for me to use my winch which is rare, My thinking is that it is better to use a battery rather than having it connected to the charge system but never put under load. As I said I might be wrong just my thinking
