Thanks Chris, my previous series o/d had a bit of a whine so i'll compare it to that! I think i'll try and trailer it up to a mates farm and have a go on the tracks then, got to load it on to get it home anyway. If I take it off the landy, would turning the shafts and trying to wiggle them about be of any use, like you might with a gearbox to check for play/wear? Harry

Hi guys, new on here but been playing with landys for a few years now. I have managed to get hold of 1973 series 3 109 with a chassis only fit for the scrappy, it does however have a fairey overdrive. It's failed the MOT on chassis rot and knackered brakes so I can't test it on the road, but is there anyway I would be able to check the condition of the overdrive? I have a paddock but am only able to get into 2nd gear around it due to ridge and furrow. Many thanks, Harry
