  1. I had this problem, the proverbial swimming pool in the cubby box, I cut the carpet from the bottom of the box and drilled a 8mm hole in what appeared to be the obvious place towards the nearside. Condensation problems not totally gone but its a hell of a lot better
  2. Hi guys, I have recently had problems with my amber engine warning light coming on, when my 2006 TD4 was in for MOT I got it put on a compnter and the guy said it was the MAP sensor, probably just dirty inlet manifold. ( I haven't a clue really what he's on about ) He said they can get gunged up and easy job just to whip it off and clean it. I have tried Redex with some, but not complete success. I was wondering if a couple of tanks of premium diesel might help. Any thoughts??
  3. To my mind if anyone is selling any vehicle on ebay without a new MOT they are not worth touching with the proverbial Barge Pole.
  4. 6H52 **** googles as a front bumper See http://www.ebay.co.u...A-/300512890250 Some part of the fitting system? Excuse my ignorance but perhaps the 6H52 relates to a model no. for the FL2 I'll shut up and sit in the corner!
  5. LR Nut, I want to disable the feature of the long press so that I don't come back to the vehicle and find the rear window open Exactly the problem the OP was talking about, but I realise that you can't disable just that small part of the rear window feature. Mine is a 2006 TD4 Facelift model. My vehjicle has a virtually new battery so that's not the issue, and the connections are good. There seems no other possible explanation than the 'Pocket thing' Since realising this I no longer keep the keys in my pocket when at home and I have had no further issues. ( Other than trying to find where I put the Damn keys!!!)
  6. I have had the same happen to me.... I put it down to having the fob in my pocket and the button being pressed and held inadvertantly, I have also discovered that when the battery is disconnected the rear window opens, again as previously stated I think this is a safety issue. I was going to post if anyone knows if there is a way of disabling the rear window openeing on the fob but I think this is probably a no no.
  7. Sounds like great service from the Garage... Name them!
  8. Update..... following an embarrasing drive from Swanage to Corfe Castle at a maximum of 25 mph and a large queue of traffic following, despite stopping twice to let them past, and a call to the AA The dealer collected the vehicle, admitted responsibility for the repair,it transpires the Turbo waste gate was faulty, I think thats what he said, being fixed as I type this (Hopefully) Final symptoms were no power whatsoever, despite the engine revving freely when in Neutral, engine warning light was illuminating whenever even the lightest pressure was put on the throttle pedal. Thanks for all the advice no doubt I will be back for more sometime.
  9. Thanks guys, reassurance so far! It's not happened since so maybe it just needed a clear out! An excuse for another 'blat' down a dual carriageway ( we don't have motorways in Dorset!)
  10. Due to me working my 06 TD4 Freelander 1 auto was delivered to me on Saturday by the dealer I was still working yesterday so today was the first 'trip out' Called in to fill with fuel, bit of a shock at £75+ but OK I understand that, then we went for a short jaunt... This is when the trouble, if it is that, started. On going up a steep hill the amber engine light came on and power was lost momentarily, the light went out then power came back, This happened 3 times going up the hill and has not happened again despite me trying it up other hills I believe the amber engine light is nothing other than a warning re emissions, is this right? Unfortunately I don't have an up to date handbook, I have found a handbook online but that appears quite old ( the instrument display is different) I will be calling the dealer tomorrow anyway, but was looking on here for advice/reassurance. Having read and been told about issues with Freelanders ( I thought they were the petrol 1.8 ones!) am I being paranoid? Thanks in advance Peter
