  1. I am not a fan of the half moon diff guards, they dotn really protect it from much in my opinion. If something hits it hard its still only attached to the axle/diff housing so will more than likely still get busted. I have a southdown front axle/diff gaurd, i do loose some ground clearance but i make it up with the tyres but i have had some bloody hard hits and it just takes it with a smile (drawn on). Other than that i agree with 3 piece steering gaurd but it all depends upon budget and what sort of driving you do.
  2. I agree, stick with standards. Found polybushes to be eaten away buy the dirt etc getting in between them and the metal surfaces and they just dont like it. Also, why do we need tighter steering in a land rover on the road. I havent ever planned on racing it around bends....
  3. What about V8 running LT85 + 230??? And how much travel should i have for the shaft to extend?
  4. Hi, Can anyone tell me the front propshaft length of a defender 90 running LT77 gearbox with the 230 transfer box?? I have been given a Decardan one from a 110 V8 running a lt85 with the 230 transfer and would like to know if i can fit it on?? I know i woudl need a new flange as it has a wider plate on it. any help please?? thanks
  5. Hi all, On my defender 90 i currently have the pro comp 2in lift kit but want more articulation on the axles. Should i go for some tubular front shock lowering turrets with some dislocation cones or am i best sticking with what i have?? I have rear dislocation cones and am getting the rear shock lower top mounts, and them trailing and radius arms are one the list. Any advice would be great. many thanks
  6. Hey, thanks for the replies, and the caliper isnt on the axle as the bolt snapped so i have as much room to get it out as possible. Main problem being that my friend gave me the axle complete as he sanppoed the bolt, then snapped a stud extractors in it trying to get it out. This makes it even harder so it killing a few dril bits now. I am going to have another go at it this weekend but the welding a rod or similar to it wont be easy as the bolt isn't poking out at all. I think if all else fails i will just have to replace the axle housing..... How would a commercial place sort it and what sort should i try??? many thaks joe
