Hi, I have a 2002 52 Range Rover 4.4 Petrol. I have bought a brand new oil cooler, but want to buy new oil cooler pipes for the gearbox,and any other associated parts for the job. Please could someone tell me what I need please and the part numbers? Cheers

The Freelander is at it again, confusing the hell out of me with the internet giving me mixed information. I would like to change the fuel filter on my 2001 1.8 petrol freelander, But the only fuel filter I can find online states for up to 1999 models only. Does my car have a fuel filter? If so, please could someone give me the part number please? Thank you

That was the wrong pipe, thanks for trying though, I have now replaced the pipe after a trek down to Hastings in a Toyota lol. It had other pipes coming off of it as well. I think the pipe listed above is the lower down pipe.

Hi, I have a 2001 Freelander 1.8K series petrol. I have a coolant leak from a split pipe. The pipe has a bleed nipple in it and connects to something (heater matrix maybe) in the bulkhead at the very top near the middle of the bulkhead and goes down behind the engine. Sorry for the poor photo. It was taken in the dark and cold. Please could someone confirm which pipe this is and possibly even go as far as to be able to give me a part number please? I can't drive the car anywhere to get the part confirmed. It's the large pipe to the right of the photo with the bleed nipple on it that is also being held further down by a hand. Thank you.

Hi, I am guessing the previous owner liked loud and bassy music. The bass was sent to the highest setting, and the speakers all sound blown to me, some clearly are, others may be. What size speakers do I need to fit in place of the current ones please? Or am I better off finding a set of used standard speakers to fit back in to the car? It is a 2001 Freelander 1, 3 door convertible with factory standard radio that is not Harmon Kardon. Cheers.

I bought the car. The misfire really is minute. I plugged diagnostics in, it came up with misfire due to low fuel, (Needle was very low!) And misfire on cylinder 2 detected. Spark plugs, ht leads, coil packs replaced, and removed and made no difference.

Hi, I am hopefully buying a 3dr Freelander 1.8 petrol. I know what a lot of people say, but this will be my 4th. Loved them all including my Range Rovers and Discovery's. Anyway, it is petrol, really low mileage, less than a year ago it has had the uprated head gasket and uprated parts fitted professionally, it is now idling lumpy which can according to the seller be felt at low speeds. No oil or coolant loss, no blue smoke. The coil packs have been replaced, new spark plugs fitted. What else could it be please? I am taking a bit of a chance on this one, hoping it isn't going to be a swing and a miss lol Cheers. (2001 X Reg)

I have a 1996 Gems 4.6 petrol V8 Range Rover P38. I am looking at buying a diagnostics tool. Budget is £300 as borrowing the money from my Mum short term. I have seen Lynx and Hawkeye. What is the best one to get? I know it is only peoples opinions but need to know of any issues of these or maybe other devices not connecting or not covering all aspects of the diagnostics system. I didn't have a choice but to disconnect the battery for a while as it kept going flat anyway due to the RF receiver waking the car up too often. But no problems that I could see came from disconnecting the battery regularly.

My 1996 4.6 V8 Gems engined P38 has developed a bit of a strange issue over the last 5 months. It has mostly been parked up, but when on 5 occasions now where it hadn't been started or driven for many weeks, the brake pedal had virtually no pressure and all 3 ABS, Handbrake and Traction lights would display with the pedal pressed, I always check my brake pedal pressure before driving luckily, but that normal noise the accumulator makes stays on for quite a long time building up the pressure, then once it as had its long hissy fit, the brakes work perfectly, the warning lights don't come on when you press the pedal anymore, and no grief at all. Is it common for the accumulator to lose pressure while the car is parked up? The battery was disconnected every time. Cheers in advance for any advice.

Sadly got let down with help this weekend. Hopefully will get to do the compression tests during the week at some point. I have ordered new breather pipes, but I couldn't wait for them to come as I needed to get Range Dog running again, so after they were cleaned, they were put back on, and what a difference in the amount of smoke. These pictures are screen shots from video taken of the smoke at its worst, with the engine at full running temperature, and my foot to the floor on the accelerator and 1 screen shot of me reversing showing no smoke at all in reverse, and it is the same when idling, No smoke, and when revving at standstill there seemed to be no smoke.

I am not convinced it is pure blue as I have had a car that was badly burning oil and the blue was much denser and easier to see as blue than the cloud out the back of my P38.

The spark plugs look very awkward to get to for me. This is where my disabilities let me down. Is anyone in East Sussex willing to come and help me with my P38 please? I have food, drink etc...

Never pure blue with mine. Here are some images from when I drove it last. The pictures were with the engine at full running temperature, and I literally floored the accelerator to get it to smoke like this. Normal acceleration gives off a much smaller amount of this coloured smoke.

I hope this topic hasn't been covered in depth before, but I couldn't find the answers I was looking for in 1 post. I have a 1996 Range Rover P38 4.6 Gems Engine. I have a blue smoke problem, and before I really get stuck in and try and resolve the problem, I was hoping to be able to dive in with a comprehensive list of things to check and for the more technical stuff, detailed instructions on how to check them and exactly what to look for, ideally with pictures as well please? The symptoms of my Range Rover are, On idle, no smoke at all out of the exhaust except for the usual steam cloud as the engine warms up. But from cold, as soon as I start to accelerate there is a mild blue cloud of smoke with a blue tint to it, the warmer the engine, the bigger the cloud but only under acceleration. I mean, a cloud when you first accelerate, then a very very faint hint of a blue trail. I have put a bottle of wynns stop smoke in which has made no difference, No oil or coolant mixing. There is a coolant loss problem which is totally unrelated as it is a leak, not being turned into steam, and there is no overheating issues, no loss of power, starts fine, runs fine, idles fine, irregular and extremely hard to notice missfire which has been there since before I bought the car last year. And also for various reasons, the Range Rover has barely moved over the last 3 or 4 years. Recently it spent 3 months at a garage, and was mainly used as a security device for the garage and hardly moved. It has covered around 350 miles in the last 6 months, prior to that it covered about 40 miles at the most for the period of over a year and was mainly parked up and various locations while the last owner was working on it then while it was waiting to be sold. To start with I have now already removed the 2 top breather pipes, the right hand side once was weak, stretchy and quite badly clogged up. What else is there to check please?
