  1. I know on the TDi's you had to have fitting kits which were the pins and little springy plates, do you need them for the TD5's?
  2. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5w-Cree-LED-Door-Logo-Projector-Puddle-Courtesy-Light-Kit-LANDROVER-DEFENDER-/171229594500?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3ADiscovery%7CPlat_Gen%3AMK+II&hash=item27de144384 Hope this helps
  3. Hi, I am hoping someone can help please. My 2002 facelift Discovery TD5 needs new brake pads on the rear. So I went on the hunt on line for rear brake pads. I thought this would be a simple task but have found a couple of options. Some with brake pad wear sensors and some without the sensors. My MOT test is in 15 days so I am just making sure any niggly jobs are done before the test. My Discovery is an ES. Which pads do I need please? Really appreciate the help. Cheers
  4. Wish I had read that before I had been out to the car today sierrafery. I will try that at the weekend. But today I took pictures of what I found.
  5. Thank you, I have had a look at the wiring that I could get to and have found something a little bit worrying. Bodged wiring that has been crimp connected together. And I think I will have to remove the centre consol to get to the entire loom. The front windows work fine. And I have used switch cleaner on all the switches. Cheers axlechorus. I think I may have a look into it all a lot more tomorrow.
  6. About a month after I got the car, the rear windows started dying. As in the switches that operate them would only seem to work as when it felt like it. The rear windows don't respond at all anymore. I was told that the the isolation switch was faulty, so have tried replacing that with a known working one although it is from the prefacelift Discovery but still a TD5. But this didn't work. Surely both window motors couldn't have packed up at the same time could they? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers in advance.
  7. Purely by chance, luck and kindness of a complete stranger on Ebay, I found out the measurements for the correct fitting bolts and sleeves. The kit I bought is way too short! The measurement of the correct bolts are 15.4cm long. The measurement of the sleeves are 13.5cm long. I hope this helps more people in the future.
  8. Every Land Rover parts dealer has fobbed me off. And then I finally got away from being blonde for a minute and realised that now I have bought a fitting kit for a different bar but for the same car, that maybe I should be asking a different question! Are all the bolts for fitting kits of nudge bars for Discovery's roughly the same length? If these are the right length, then all I need to do is get some sleeves cut to length. Can anyone please tell me the correct length of the bolts that are supposed to hold the bar on through the 33mm holes please? I am hoping to get a mate down to help me get this fitted next weekend.
  9. I have contacted several specialists as well as BritPart directly. So hopefully will get an answer soon. I also found a brand new one for sale on Ebay with the fitting kit for £450 and have asked the seller if they would kindly take a picture of the fitting kit and measure all the bolts, nuts and sleeves. Fingers crossed I get somewhere as I really am desperate to get this fitted now.
  10. Thanks for trying everyone. I will keep hunting. Someone must have or be able to replicate this kit somewhere. And I determined to get this nudge bar fitted to my Landy. It is sitting in my lounge staring at me everyday lol
  11. That part number is for the pre facelift. The part number for my A Bar is STC53174
  12. The set in this link aren't the right nuts and bolts, but thanks for trying to help. I ordered them and then found the instructions on line for fitting the bar and the bits I need are different. Here is a picture taken from the fitting instructions. Does anyone know the part number for that kit please?
  13. This information has still helped me a great deal, so thank you. I will take the list of part numbers to a Land Rover dealer and see if they can match up my description to one of the parts. Thanks again western.
  14. Cheers western, that has helped, but still not quite sure which part it is that I need out of that list.
  15. Can someone please give me the part number for the little O ring guide thing that guides the fuel flap actuator in and out and keeps it central to the hole please? And possibly the part number for the screws that hold the actuator in place too? Cheers.
  16. I am looking to see if there is someone who can make a similar light to the Discovery 4 to fit as a direct replacement on the Discovery 2 on the rear. So is there anyone on here that can or knows anyone on here that can make custom lenses / lights?
  17. The genuine Land Rover bolts kit arrived yesterday So I know what I will be doing this weekend as long as the weather lets me
  18. As soon as I have got my latest investment sold on, I will get the car booked into Woodchurch to be inspected.
  19. I have no idea bogmonster.
  20. Cheers. And you might be right about the leak being higher up. I will have to get it into a garage to confirm that leak I think. And might just ask them to change the sump and the oil bolt as well. I will be getting that bolt ordered asap before I forget. Thanks again Reb78
  21. Cheers. As soon as I have a bit more cash in my wallet I will go and get some new glow plugs ready for when I fit the loom.
  22. Thank you sierrafery, I have now ordered the kit. The only part number I kept coming up with was for a fitting kit that didn't look anything like what the ones in the link you showed me.
  23. Both oil leaks seem to have been found. (Hopefully). 1 is the sump pan seal. So that will be replaced in a couple of weeks along with a replacement sump that mine needs anyway. And the other leak is further up on the back of the engine as pictured although it may be something else blowing it onto it but this is very wet. My engine is the TD5 on a 2002 Facelift Discovery Auto. Please could someone name the part? Cheers
