  1. Cracking weekend, and a good result for us, 3rd in class 2 on our 1st Howlin Wolf event in my own truck!

I think everyone had a fair run out problems but that kirton's terrain for you,

    ours

1 mullered track rod end on the night ss,

snapped the rope 3 times on the same special stage

got to the 1st punch and the cyber key wouldnt work

    1 snapped steering bar

1 bent spare steering bar, (thanks to Andy Tunnah for welding our original bar)

then on our last section we got bogged down on the exit and were well and truely stuck, the rear halfshaft snapped along with all 5 high tensile flange bolts, 1 severly bent ground anchor and a marshals helping hand we eventually made it back in time for prize giving!

Expect the chassis has took a right battering.

As for the the punch layout sections, i thought that worked really well,

The night stages i thought were a little long for night stages, alot of people suffering minor problems before the main event, and lots of waiting around time, maybe shorter sections would be better?

overall cracking weekend, and lots to keep us busy, See you all at Round 2!

Thanks as normal to Neil & the team and sponsors, keep up the good work

Toms's mate took nearly 350 pics, mainly of us , be a fair few of others, so once ive gone through them il post some up!

  2. Sounds good to me!

Just spent most of today adding some kirton protection, under belly pan etc, aswell as some extra lighting for the night stage incase we end up running in the dark. Just a few minor adjustments to make, set tracking etc and build front winch back up and we are ready!

  3. where are the mods here? this topic is howling wolf 2010, series details!

i now come on here, to find dates, venues and rules, and have 6 pages of pointless gaggle to sort through.

The rules and classes are set for 2010 so if you want a discussion about different classes etc for possibly 2011, you should surely start a new topic.

I take my hat of to Neil, you should really be thanking him. Neil is one of those people that has taken the sport to where its at now!

  4. I have a bowmotor 1 sat here on my desk!

    1: 50mm

    2: 16.45mm & 14.3

    3: 20

4: 40mm before it tapers in where it goes inside the casing

5: splines are straight but widen as they go down nearer to the shaft

    6: external diameter 40mm, inside diameter 16.9mm, depth 12mm

    Hope this helps

    Ian

  5. Jon,

i think an overall winner is good, but that aside i always look for the top three in each class, i cant remember all three but i know who won each class. if you also look at it alot of class 2 beat the class 1 overall and 1st Class 3 was 5th overall IIRC so you can compete across the classes, granted its not that easy but as these cl1 get more and more complicated alot of them seem to spend more time fixing rather than competing which opens it up to Cl2 and 3.

you right in that most only look at 1st overall and ignore the rest but then maybe that is just something to strive for?

it was 4th overall for a class 3 car james if my memory serves me right! ;):)
