Yea I was thinking the gauge myself it would be the dearer part but probably the easier to change. There seems to be 2/3 gauges it could be I was going for PRC7313 but when I took it out found this. If I may if anyone has a good second gauge PRC 3107 give me a pm.

Anyone know if I am on the right track with my guess at the gauge being faulty? Mark

Price wise 2nd hand ÂĢ25+ new ÂĢ55+. If anyone on here has a working one let know price + p+p. Would I be right in thinking it is the gauge at fault with what I have found in the voltage readings more volts more fuel? Thanks Mark.

Yes black wire on threaded post. If the low fuel light still works at least it will give me time to save up for a new gauge. ðĪŠ Or a length of dowl, I can dip it before each journey. Full jerry can in the back belt and braces style. ðŽ You will have to excuse me I've had a few ciders. Thanks for the help.

At the tank if I raise the float the multimeter goes up to 12v and low fuel light goes out and gauge reads full. If I lower less volts on m/meter f/gauge reads full and orange low fuel light is on gauge reads full, faulty gauge perhaps? ðĪ

Green and black crossed at the tank gauge reads full. Gauge on bench 12 to male earth to female gauge full. If I put 12 on the female and earth to the male no movement.

Thanks guys. A bit of testing for Sat morning. I'll check the gauge the way you suggest ð I have a green, wihte and black wire. I crossed the green and white. Will do as you have suggested. Mark

Gauge reading full all the time. Took the 3 terminal sender out looks OK getting power to it and earth good. Do the gauges fail? What else can I check? I have had a trawl and not come up with a try this. When I cross the 2 wire at the sender the needle will rise a small amount. Regards Mark

Insurance reporting non fault accidents.
bushwhacker replied to bushwhacker's topic in International Forum
Just a wee update. Managed to get insurance through The Nice People at Lancaster. Very helpful and great to deal with. ð If this is not allowed please remove. Regards Mark. -
Sorry if this is not relevant or it is in the wrong place or should not even be here. As above if you declare a non fault accident they use it against you to increase your premium. Typical jargon "This is because: Every incident you're involved in is assessed and rated, even if it wasn't your fault. An insurer may decide that the circumstances that caused the claim are likely to happen again. This will affect their quote". Where would they have pulled that idea from? I thought lightning never strikes in the same place twice. Slightly peeved to say the least and I am now having trouble getting quotes for the 110 (anyone want to buy a 110)? Regards Mark.

Went for jb weld and metal tube, shouldn't melt.

Sorry, back to this again. Holders have fallen in and bulbs melting the outer bit. Open to ideas. This speedo is a replacement as I opened the original and as advised out ring bandaged. Regards Mark.

heater box bulkhead opening
bushwhacker replied to bushwhacker's topic in Defender Forum (1983 - 2016)
Can't get my pic to upload ðŦ I think I will leave bulkhead as is. I have gathered up plenty of info from the forum and it will be very useful indeed. The only other thing I did was to make a bulkhead seal out of a yoga mat ð a lot easier to work. Mark -

Hi all. Has anyone made this opening bigger on a rhd 90 or 110? What is behind the panel to the right of opening? Is it worth the faff. Regards Mark
-
Thanks for the reply information. Must get the kettle on and breakout the digestives. (Had a quick look at the link.) I actually thought that fault would have been a new one so I didn't even search it should have known better. I may be talking billhooks, I do that all the time. Regards Mark.

My hazards / four way flashers when turned on will only work if the indicator stalk is on the right side signal position with the ignition on or off. Don't know what to look at indicator stalk maybe ? I did have a new stalk but it got used on my fixer up and its long gone. Regards Mark.

Yeah that's them. ð Thanks.

Thanks, yes what you have mentioned was what I thought so I went and rigged the motor up and got arcing at the socket of the motor, I remembered I had a motor knocking around so I rigged it up and it is working fine. So the duff one will be coming apart soon. Could the lr motors be replaced by some other type motor ?
-
Ok, so I thought I would test my hamster wheel motor as there are just two wires, neg and pos me thinks. Well a bit of arcing and motor will not turn. So I hooked it up to the 110 and now it's blowin fuses. I don't know what I have done and now looking for help please. Would it be wise to open up the motor it looks like it could be opened ? Anyone know where I could get a couple of the cable clip things on top of the heater box housing ? Regards Mark.
-
Thanks, excellent suggestion. ð

Hi, looking for suggestions as to what I could stick on the 2 inner flaps of the heater box. Heat resistant rubber, foam or other? Regards Mark.

It all depends what you want and are happy with. It obviously needs to be road worthy for sure. Make a list and price new parts up buy them all at once or get them bits at a time fit them then order more. More is always good and it may never end. Good luck with your adventure. Regards Mark.
