  1. In my 110 for something a little brighter?
  2. There are many on ebay - this was the one i used.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ALLOY-WHEEL-COURIER-...1QQcmdZViewItem But if you search for "ALLOY COURIER" you should find plenty.
  3. oooh.....speed limit is 60 for towing I think.............. :D
  4. Thanks for all that folks. I took the advice and found LynxExpress on ebay, they took the order late on Thursday, picked them up on Friday and (having advised me that they would deliver on Monday) delivered then at 07:15 on Saturday. Normal wheel size cost £29.95, they charged me £34.95 for the larger land rover wheels. First class in every respect. They are now on the car and look great! :D
  5. ...all the way to Manchester. Anyone know of a decent, cheap, mimimum fuss courier? Speed of delivery is not an issue... Thanks in advance.
  6. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...N:IT&ih=002 Well? - Good value or not? :D :D
  7. Wow, thanks for that. Imperial is fine by me........ So an extra 10 percent distance for each revolution.....compared with how much extra power to turn the wheels.... Hmm...
  8. My 110 has 235/70s on 16 inch wheels. If I fit the correct tyres (235/85s - but please stop me if I've got that wrong!!), will my fuel economy be better?
  9. Well, she is here......!!!!! Drove up from Huntingdon this afternoon.....176 miles. Good points so far: Pulls like a train, cruised most of the way at 70-75mph. Managed to get about 18 to the lpg gallon. Very comfortable ride. Bad points so far: There was no lpg in the vehicle at all, so I filled her up, the machine automatically cut out at 37 litres. Looking at the twin lpg tanks, this seems a little low in volume terms. There is definitely only one filler, so further investigation required. Intermittent front indicator fault (bad earth at a guess). Interior light is kaput. Sounds a bit clunky changing from 3rd to 4th. Heater is carp. Interior really does need cleaning (even the ruddy ashtray was full). Draught coming in from both front doors, just at the bottom of the back of your jumper when you sit down.. When daylight comes, more investigation and some pictures to follow. GT
  10. Neil, not very often, I'm looking to be at the garage to pick up the car at around 1:15 - 1:30 on Saturday afternoon. JRH Imports it's called, near to RAF Wyton, postcode for satnav is PE28 2DX. If you're at a loose end, you could feel free to pop along! I'll PM you my mobile number.
  11. Thanks for that Neil, it actually doesn't sound too bad...... Money sucking...yess, it's started already, with £110 for a set of side steps. On the look out for a spare wheel carrier at reasonable cost too. Hey ho. Driving it back from Huntingdon - Manchester on Saturday - 170 miles, so hoping to find LPG garage first. Regards, GT
  12. Cheers for the welcome. Yes, I'm like a kid wishing the days away till Christmas at the moment. I'll post some pictures as soon as I get it. There is a downside to this too of course, I'm having to part with my 1959 Rover P4 (on orders from the General!). Graham.
  13. Hello, I get my first Land Rover on Saturday....I can't wait . She is a Defender 110 CSW of 1989 vintage, with the 134bhp 3.5 V8. She also has some LPG conversion or other. She is to be named Sandy (short for Sandra....), I know, I know, "Sandy the Landy"! (It was my 5 year old daughter, honest). Anyway, I'm struggling to find some fuel consumption figures, long run, around town etc. Have any of you guru types got some, or a link to a technical data sheet somewhere on t' tinternet? Thanks in advance. Graham.
