That underdriver on e-blag obviously wasnt for me
I bid £905.55 but the winning bidder achived had it for £920.
Looks like I shall have to save my pennies for a little longer.
After the next event (awdc) I shall be open to offers on my current crawler transfer box.
(Sensible ones only)
As I will be after money to go into my underdrive pot.
The crawler box is a fantastic bit of kit that I can highly recomend, mine having currently done arround 6000 miles and 8 winch challenge events.
My reason for wanting to change is to have a greater choice of gears and a faster reverse when in low ratio.

To add to the coments on handed cv,s here is a picture of a (handed) brit part aeu2522
And hopefully compared to Tony's you should be able to see the difference :- Ashcroft

When I run off road tubeless if the tyre comes off the bead I can blow it back up sometimes with the help of a ratchet strap.
When I travel home afterwards I have been known to have wheel vibration due to dirt in the tyre knocking it out of balance, When I get home I knock it off the bead and wash it out.
When tubed tyres are run at low pressure off road the tube gets damaged and you cant blow it back up.
I have heard of tubes having their valves torn off when the tyre slips on the rim whilst running at low pressure.
I prefer to run tubeless.

Regards Tim
Hi I am taking 4 winch sails down with me but come and see me and I shall give you gwyn's business card to mail order or arrange to meet up when I am at another challenge event.
Bos says I got to get rid of more junk in april too.
I shall be in a Blue K reg Discovery towing(selling) a sankey Trailer.
Might have a green gazebo up aswell according to the boss
-
Righto, the idea is to list what you're after at Sodbury, and maybe what you're selling, so you can 'reserve' stuff and guarantee a quick sale, or let others know you might have what they need...
I'm looking to Buy;
200Tdi air con compressor plus engine mounting bracket
VGC Defender heater box and matrix
Series 3 Speedo
I have a n early B reg defender heaterbox but I dont know what its condition is like, and I have a spare series3 lwb spedo, but I dont know if I could take them off before sodbury, I could bring them with me to round 6 Awdc trophy in 2 weeks though.
How desperate are you for them as it is a 30 mile round trip for me to fetch them.
probably best for you to see what is at sodbury first.

I belive one ton transfer box is lower ratio in low than std series,
the forward controll uses the same box.
The 1 ton and forward control use 900 16 tyres hence the need for the lower ratio.
I cant remember who but someone off the forum has a web site with a comprehensive gear ratio spread sheet.
Alternatively do a google for "gear ratio land rover"

Pictures of punch 31
We thought we might be able to get at it from the top.
The one back wheel was floating in mid air.
I think that is reasonably impressive.
From this you should be able to see how we got this far.
We only needed to go back about another foot but sometimes things get a little too dangerous.

Shall upload pictures tonight

Thanks for the transport offer for saterday night that will at least save me navigating to the pub and back.
I want to put up my tent (I think) before going to the pub so I guess I should aim to be in slindon by about 6:30 ish.
I dont know weather to meet you down there or go in convoy. Covoy suites me but be warned I belive mark made close aquatance with this whilst following me last time
I will load my vehicle a little better next time honest.

I am interested in a general get together before hand be it in the curry house or pub or both (funds allowing) i.e. put me down
-
The curry idea sounds like good centeral heating for my tent but I am not sure about stopping for a toilet break during the middle of sunday
-
I now have a decent socket to fit my trailer wheels but I still havent tried removing the drivers side yet.
Got to do some remidial work to my trailer this week end.
-
You'll have to introdue me to him so I can see if he's got any tips
Aye me too. Not getting up early enough to drive over there on a sunday morning. Is the lovely Fi coming to cook breakfast
Fi wont be coming but she sends you her love
Sorry but my cooking isnt a patch on hers.
-
I belive so.
Still on for this Rob?
yes I sure am and I recon I have sourced a great co driver
I was thinking of going down on the Saterday night and camping there ready for the sunday.
What is your opinion mark? and Les?

Just for you to see this is the hole in question:-
-
there is an orange G wagen running arround in the competition circuit than runs twin motor 8274 it is baisically 2 8274 ends fastened facing each other with the drum inbetween joining them together.
As I cant remember being in a situation where my 8274 wasnt capable of pulling me out by single line pull with drive assist I cant realy see the point in buying an extra 8274 to put on the front.
Better off using it on the back.
If an 8274 cant pull you out with drive assist I recomend you ask for some advice on driving/winching.
P.S. I dont know exactly how much current a single 6hp motor draws at full load (400 ish) but what battery banks and alternator must you be running to cope with 2.

Broke 2 std rr rear half shafts and a front winch rope ands still managed to get 46 out of 50 punches.
I just wish I had qued up for special stage 1 as just putting my nose in thje section woiuld have given me 500 points.
I realised as I was looking at the map on sunday evening that I wasted a lot of time driving around the fields just to get to one section next to special stage 1 where I could have just nipped up the road from the base.

I shall be driving down in the early hours of Sunday morning.
I am planning of bringing with me some arb winch sails and some of the Gwyn lewis 8274 brake pads.
Is there anything that Gwyn Lewis has in his comprehensine stock that anyone would like me to bring down with me.
If you give Gwyn a ring before Thursday night I can make sure | load it up with me.
