Yes. Much smoother then LT230 and drives much more positivley around bends. Also get a centre diff that works great on roads with patchy snow or ice as it "locks" as and when you need it. Mine is fitted with an auto box and make a great alround package. It also seems to work well off road.

I have a 90 TD5 auto but without Compushift as it was not available then. Have done about 40000 miles in it and it is by far the best mod I have done to the vehicle. I ran a 3.9iV8 manual in a 90 before which was great to drive but the auto is much more fun although it does not sound as good as the V8 did. If I were converting again I would go for the Compushift as the box does sometimes get it wrong and the extra options sound interesting.

I have my tools etc insured on a seperate policy with NFU, they also insure the 90 and cover the tools as long as the vehicle is locked.

I have tried the reset, will now try looking for manuals if they are not that complicated to work on.

I have a Webasto Thermotop C in my 90 and I am having trouble getting it to fire up. I have check everything I know about so I now need to find a specialist, so can anybody recommend somewhere in The Scottish Highlands, I am based in Grantown - on -Spey but realise I may have to travel.

I have installed a heated screen with the timer/relay etc and have now got to wiring the switch. It is a 2004 model and I have got the proper switch so that it fits the dash. Can anybody tell me what the 5 pins (numbered 1-5) should be connected to. I assume that 2 conections are to iluminate the switch and the other 3 for the screen operation but which one is which.

Neither do I but I have seen it written somewhere

I have read that this does not work if you are using a 1.2 transfer box instead of the standard 1.4. Can anyone confirm this one way or the other. I would hate to wire it all up and then find it will not work.

I have done the normal checks and all is ok, I was just trying to figure out if the noises were an early warning or something else that was not actually showing in the normal checks

I have a 1993 RRC with the BW transfer box, I know what happens when the viscous coupling unit siezes and you get wind up. The question is does anybody know what are the first signs of the viscous unit starting to fail, the reason for asking is that I have some strange noises occasionally that sound a bit like something rubbing or dragging. I have checked the handbrake is not dragging and wheel bearings are all ok. I am open to any suggestions to as to what the noise may be if it is nothing to do with viscous.

All the transfer boxes I have seen have the bolt fitted with the head to the gearbox end ie you need to remove the flange to change, this includes 2 new 90s and a new RRC and several secondhand motors

I have a RR with an auto box and BW viscous transfer box 93my. Can anybody tell me how to do a quick test to make sure the viscous unit is working properly as I have a feeling something is not quite right. Ideally a test with the box still in the vehicle as I don't really fancy taking it out. Thanks

I notice that 300tdi and early td5 have one part number and the later td5 a different number. Can anyone tell me the difference and are they interchangable anyway. I am assuming that if the ujs are the same bolt fitting and the props the same length then they would be. Thanks

When I was 16 I got hold of a load of old custom car magazines and there was a series of articles by the mags photographer about building a V8 S1 and that was it I didn't want a custom car anymore. Took me 5 years to get my first Land Rover (20 years ago) and haven't been without one since. The photographers name was Pete Robain, does anybody else blame him?

I have run Khumo KL71s for the last 20000miles and have been very pkeased with them both on and off road but going out in the snow on them today it felt like someone had sandpapered all the tread off overnight, they were all over the road, yet my Disco on standard road tyres was much better.

I am looking at selling my 4.6 HSE 1998 S reg, it is in good condition for its age and has 140k miles on it. It is dark blue with the light leather interior and has a multi point LPG system on it. Any thoughts as to how much I should be asking as I have a friend who is interested but want a price that is fair to both him and me, I have owned it for the last 6 years from 60k. Thanks

I think they should put third party insurance and road tax on fuel, that way nobody could get away with it. If you want fully comp then you take that out as an extra policy.

Are all front props on RRC with the borg warner transfer box the same

I have been on the green oval site and downloaded the rave discs and then used nero to burn the image to disc and these work. I have done the same with microcat and after I have installed it it says that I need a dongle, what am I doing wrong

I have a viscous tranfer box that was working when I took it out of a 1994 RRC about 18 months ago, since then it has sat on the floor of the garage, the question is what do I need to do to it if anything beefore I put it in my new motor. I don't want to fit it if its not going to work having sat that long.
