  1. BogMonster, Can you tell me how you altered the kickdown, as my 3.5 rangie isn't too lively in that department Rhys
  2. SLROC, suffolk club. Normal driving days are held at newbourne. www.slroc.com Getting a little worried now if you guys turn up It is nothing like what you have ever done..............as it is pretty tame but as I said it is very well organised and a friendly little meet. When I say tame, don't expect to drive it all
  3. muc-off is very good. Whatever you use, steam clean it first, then apply the cleaner, maybe scrub with a brush abit, then steam clean it off and you should have a very clean engine
  4. There should be one around ipswich or bury st edmunds area in either july or june time. Only a small time challenge but very, very well prepared
  5. Ok thanks all, I shall have yet another think...................... And Mr Warne, I can totally see what you are saying there, cheers
  6. If I run my ss ltb's at say 6psi will that risk popping the inner bead? They have an 8ply side wall remember!!! It is just I am cautious about fitting these tyres without tubes as to take them all off again to fit tubes would be a nightmare and a job I really don't want to have to do twice Hmmmmm.........What do I do???
  7. Rich, did you use a tyre machine or did you do it by hand with levers? I am hoping to do it with a tyre machine so should save me a bit of time Rhys
  8. Aren't you have supposed to have left school by then???
  9. Gwyn lewis everytime. But his kit maybe a bit too extreme for what you are going to do, although it will still handle ok ish on the road.
  10. I agree on that one, as I have driven a chipped td5 and once the turbo is completely spooled up then it can be quite responsive but agressive and a little harsh. Not quite as responsive as a standard v8, but the v8 is smoother through the entire rev range, along with a well sorted mildly tuned 200 or 300, which also gives a smoother power feed. Rhys
  11. The wheels have 4.5" backspace so I will run spacers, and that will then give me around 3.25" backspace. So should be about right, and therefore I will receive my steering lock back.
  12. Money, money, money Hmmmmm........more things are going to be happening to my drivetrain soon with my ss ltbs (when they arrive!) Uprating things is on my to do list Anyway, back to topic
  13. I know a guy that took him 2 days to complete a greenlane in wales
  14. I don't have that much of a lead foot, and have still broken 3 diffs And drive an auto Maybe someone's telling me its time to uprate my drivetrain
  15. A punch nibbler?? Or is the ali too thick?
  16. It doesn't work like that as the back springs are heavier duty to allow for the load to be carried. So when the springs are switched around the front will sit very high. How do I know???..................A friend of mine has done it
  17. I have an auto in a v8 bobtail, and yep, absolutly superb. But I have broke 3 diffs in the last year. So I think it depends on what engine you are running diesel or petrol
  18. Totally agree Apart from I chose the manual vote because of the engine it would be mated with
  19. I have said no, purely because it is a diesel and really I prefer a v8 with an auto box. But if it was a electronic diesel, like the td5 or dse tuned then, maybe an auto. Just my opinion, and I am pretty sure it will remain around 50/50 Rhys
  20. Oh, I have no idea then??? Maybe a chat to britpart may solve a small mystery
  21. Have you put the right springs on the right side. i.e, you may have put the rears on the front which would make it sit very high at the front but not at the back. HTH
  22. Just flicking through the forum and found this pic
  23. Hi Steve, I have a kenlowe sucking fan on my bob, and like you rely on it to keep going as I have a v8. I have ahd it on there for around 2 1/2yrs and works perfectly. Through water I switch it off and out the other side, at a flick of the switch, it comes back on, EVERY time. Very trusted and reliable. HTH Rhys
  24. Liking the looks of that Especially your new defender there going off road We haven't got hardly any snow here Typical
  25. Or not...........A simple drag race between a 3.9efi rangie with 31" tyres and a chipped 110 td5 with 32" tyres and it was a complete draw, right from 0-70mph. The only thing was the 110 had a disco t-box from ashcroft.
