The above methods are all good assuming that the oil fitler is easily removed. The last one I did wasn't, so I had to adapt a little bit...
Put a few rags over the axle/diff area to catch any drips, then knock a screwdriver through the filter at an angle. Balance or hold a drip can under the lower end of the screwdriver for a few minutes to catch any spillage, then twist the filter loose. Once it moves, the above bag method is the best I've found...

I would seriously consider whether you need a lot of toys on it. Of course, we only hear stories about the horrors of problems that people experience, but the less gadgetery there is to go wrong, the better in my book!
I have owned my Disco 2 Serengetti (read as base spec + climate control and CD changer) for nearly 5 years. It's covered approx. 65000 miles and is a pre-facelift (just) model on an 02 plate. To note the issues I've had:
Fuel pressure regulator - apparently a common problem and will cost you about £100 in parts to fix.
Flywheel & clutch - started to develop some clutch slip, then soon after the tell-tale judder of the flywheel, so had them both done at the same time. Didn't get much change from £1000, but it's all under LR warranty at the moment!! I found cheaper quotes, but no-where near the 1 year warranty that LR gave me...
Brakes - pads all round, but that's just general service items...
Gear change - it is developing the clunky gear change when cold, but it's due an oil change, so hopefully that'll help.
I did suspect that oil had gotten into the injector harness at some stage as it developed a slight misfire and some lumpy running, but it turned out to be an absolutely shocking batch of fuel from Tesco and the problem soon disappeared after a refill with decent brand fuel!
Even after 1 year with a 'performance' upgrade, it's still faultless! It does make it a lot nicer to drive, too!!
Long may the problem free motoring continue!!

Yep.......I'd say you are about 1/3 of the way there!! Keep going!!

They've all come down south......... It must be brassic up there!!!

Recommend........hmmm!!
There is Dartford 4x4 if you like muddy puddles and a few man made bumps.
Woodlands is closed for the foreseeable future - 'remodelling' apparently
Not really sure about East Sussex, but I can't think of any. There is a site at Flimwell that opens for events every now and then, but it's normally set-up by clubs rather than a general P&P. There are a couple in Essex that might be within your range, but...
There is, of course, Slindon in West Sussex, but that might be a bit of a trek for you. Excellent site with something for everyone and is used regularly for competitions (have a search for Slindon).
Other than that, not much really...

Another recommendation for the Khyam range. We have a large 5-man one and it's so simple to deal with, although very bulky.
I also have a 3-man Coleman tent that I bought some 8 or 9 years ago. It's been used in all weathers and apart from a bit of seam sealant (like 2" length) on the back and a fresh coat of waterproofer on the groundsheet, it's been faultless.
In my experience, you can pay as little as you like for a tent and it will work for a while, but then the zips start going and the seams start leaking. I have previously left tents in wheelie bins at campsites having woken up with wet bags/airbed etc etc... Definitely another case of 'you get what you pay for' and if you are on the Mac, the last thing you want is to be worrying if your tent will last the night. There's more to life...
On the other hand, I would have no issues with popping into Argos to buy a cheap one if I could guarantee that the weather was going to be good and I'm unlikely to use it again, which might be your situation...

The pictures in the link given show them as LHD and it sounds like they were just a slightly different spec to the NAS ones, but just the same underneath...
You might find that somewhere like Dunsfold would be able to shed a lot more light on them.

That link is requiring a password to get into Google Docs......
Any chance it can be made public?

Presuming you are refering to the chequer plate when talking about metal primer and paint, I would suggest that if it hasn't taken very well then the primer wasn't etch primer...
A decent quality etch primer allowed to dry properly, overcoated with a reasonable quality paint should serve you well.
Of course, if you use the bonnet and wing tops to stand on, this is a whole different game and you will need a much more resillient paint to finish it off with...

Blimey!! That's a cracking deal. I've got the other 2 cars with Admiral and I know it was a good price, but I feel a haggle is necessary at renewal time!!

I have a policy on the 90 with Academy Insurance (used to be Snowball). It's fully comp limited to 5000 m/annum and covers the seemingly endless list of modifications all for about £250.
No silly admin charges for updating the mods list, or adding/removing drivers. No annoying call centre persons who don't know a winch from a walrus, just genuinely friendly people to deal with.

We could always incorporate that into the slogan/logo....

There are different classes and 'experience' levels. The best thing to do is email or call Lucy direct at Challenger to discuss your individual circumstances - all the contact details you need are further up the thread...
I would suggest that you will be in a Novice in Class 1 (but I can't remember which way round the classes are numbered!!)

Don't take it all to heart, Nige.....
I quite like the colour you chose!! It would work well on a black background...
-
Only just seen this - pinning obviously doesn't work for us dopey ones!!
I like the idea and would be in for a rugby shirt in XL, plus possibly a fleece depending on prices..
I also agree that prices would soar if we were to add individual forum names to them...
WRT logo, I think Ross' idea looks pretty good, but I imagine a more open tread would be more favourable for clarity and to ease the embroidery - otherwise it will just look like one large lump of splodge if it's small. It'll probably lead to less distortion of the original material after it's been washed a few times, too!!

It does... It's a 2-stage grip. Squeeze gently to deflate or firmly to inflate.
Just to confirm, mine it the analogue one with the red handle. Not the digital type. Seeing the prices of some of their other stuff, I guess that the digital one would be quite a way out of my price range.

It could be the seals inside the piston unit itself. I had a similar experience with a trolley jack - it would raise and lower quite happily with no load on, but when loaded it wouldn't even lift the spare wheel, let alone the car. It went back for investigation and I received a completely new jack in return from Machine Mart.
Sounds like you might have a similar problem...
Bit more info on the make/model and/or a picture of it might help others provide a bit more info on refilling, or known problems...

M&S - do you mean the actual tyre inflator tool itself?? If so, I have a PCL one (just the economy version) that has proved more accurate than many others we have tried... PCL Details
I got mine from a company in the Medway Towns, but you may be able to find a stockist nearer to you...

I have recently used:
Modus Engine Services Ltd
Tel: 01892 863600
Speeds Farm, Farnham Lane, Langton Green, Tunbridge Wells, Kent TN3 0JT
Speak to Jay and he'll know exactly what you are after. He will recommend a new set of valves, but this might not be necessary for you. I went the whole hog as I was having overheating problems and suffered a snapped timing belt, so had at least 3 bent valves...
Very good and quick service. Possibly not the cheapest, but definitely good. I have since found out that they are the company that LCP use for all of their 'head-work'...

Have a word with Terry (Tel on here) Member Profile
I believe he and a couple of his friends are into this type of thing in quite a big way. As your profile is void of your location info, I can't suggest whether they are local or not...

Be careful if you are refitting the same unit. If you even slightly overtighten the allen screws, you'll regret it!!
-
More likely to be before the lift pump in my opinion, otherwise it'll be squirting diesel all over the engine bay. I've seen the smallest of pin pricks in the fuel feed pipe cause this on a Discovery before.

AFAIK the body/pillars/floor do not attach to the sliders at all. They bolt on to the outriggers from the chassis...

I can't remember what size it is, but find the nearest IMPERIAL size to 14mm and use that. You might have to tap it on with a small hammer, but it will fit.
