  1. Anyone planning on making an appearance at the event on the 24th?- Simon Parsons and I are planning on laying on a nice and easy opening event for the 2010 championship... Scuitineering will start on site at 0900, drivers brief at 0950 and event starts at 1000. If anyone is bringing a lorry then please let us know in advance- also trailered vehicles will need to be unloaded in the large layby opposite the site. Tow vehicles etc will then be shown where to park on the site. Get Registered!!! all the details are on www.challengesouthwest.co.uk Ian
  2. Tell you what mate, your not wrong I would'nt compete if I set it up............I can be a right B**T**D!! Ian
  3. Tim You can't sell up I've just got enough paint together to do the truck and the horse box!!!!!!! You will still be around ,I am sure? Ian
  4. Cracking day James once again, thanks to Frank my passenger, rather than B**ch, he did seem reluctant to get out of the vehicle, but the quarry put pay to that and we managed to get him muddy in the end!!!!!! Just off to buy the replacement stop / tail light which seems to be an obligatory replacement after everytime I take the truck out, bloody trees keep jumping out at me!!!! Please can we still have days like this next year!!!! The format is great and the learning curve for someone such as me is spot on. If anyone out there wants to learn what they, their truck and their B**ch can do, in anything from a factory standard vehicle this is the day out for you!!!!!! All the best Ian
  5. Jim Thanks for that, can we therefore rely on you to spread the word to these International teams??????? Ian
  6. Bugger, I did'nt think you would complete it when we set it out And why Bathtub took the route on 23, between the trees that we had measured and new he would'nt fit through by about 8 - 10" yet to the left was enough room to get a lorry through, was a little surprising Thanks for the feed back guys, we were knackered by the time we finished settig up for Saturday but the comments here and on other forums have made it all worth it. Whatch out next year I might be asked to help out again Ian

And before anyone asks no it isn't a wooden or plastic cage that I am putting on!!!!!! Oh yes tim I've just checked and I have got enough paint to re do your Lorry or at least some of it Ian

  22. Thanks for the responses, I omitted to say that I am looking for a crank driven system... Sorry. Tony - I think the only system that Alfred Murray does is the chain drive which scares the heck out of me!! John - I totally agree that the ability to control speed is of great importance, especially with my ability to contact even the largest of trees which seem to jump out at me, ..................... but being beaten by a SLUG!!!!!!!! Mike - I have tried to contact Old Spot as I had heard something along these lines but had no response so if you could give him a prod with a large piece of 4"x2" I would be most great full, do you know any details of what he is putting together?? Escape - Are you running that with any type of clutch set up??? Pickies and more detail would be very interesting!!!! Nige - What would the optimum size of pipe work be therefore to run the standard motor, which ever route of drive I take??? Once again thanks, keep it coming, Ian
