are there any good rollcage builders in the south east and what are the rules in competitions of building you own?
-
He sometimes delivers for the cost of the fuel, you never know he might do you a good deal with delivery if your really interested.
yeah the idea off the v8 interests me but i still cant get over the idea that they are not so good with water. diesels are so easy to get water proof , what are your opinions as i keep getting warned away but cant let go off the idea. also do you now the engine's history and how many miles etc and does it come with alternator starter and so on
cheers tim

are the KAM electric diff locks and axle kits any good. they offer a full kit, diff locks, drive shafts, heavy duty shaft ends etc for around £650 never really heard off KAM so not sure of quality
any advise appreciated

About £250 he wants for it & he's in Coventry.
ok i live right down the south east near the channel tunnel so a bit to far away . thanks anyway though

not to sure about v8,s but might be valve stem oil seals letting a bit off oil in while it sits and then burns off straight away when running . i had the same on an rs turbo an oil seals curred that

my scuttles off mine at the moment if pics would help
yeah pics would help just need to see where the hinge joins to the body
-
does anyone know if this can be done if so what other parts do i need?
i have looked at a hidden hinge version and it could be done but i think you would have to weld on the hinge mounts and the mount that holds the bonnet lifting springs secure. cant be sure as i dont have an exposed hinge car with the scuttle off

landmann has a point - with power comes responsibility
whacking the lockers in and flooring it when only one wheel has traction is going to grenade something else.
That said, if used sensibly lockers can reduce breakages by stopping the "wheel-spinning-then-gripping" scenario that often pings a halfshaft. If all wheels are turning at the same speed, that can't happen.
how about the electric operated KAM lockers has anyone tried these and how do they rate against the air systems?

Where are you based?
Anywhere but Australia and spares etc for Maxidrive will be expensive and hard to come by. In the UK nearly everyone uses ARB so spares are common.
Nothing in it in terms of performance I believe, but have no experience of Maxidrive.
based in kent so arb's sound good to me

I know someone who has a 3.9 V8 for sale. I would imagine it would be a good price but depends on what you think is a good price.

hi any clues on how to wire a rev counter into a diesel engine. is it possible
cheers tim

I'm working on me new beastie- Pics soon I promise! but I've just been gripped by the notion to lift it 1" in the body as well as about 1.5" in the springs. Has any body done it? What else is involved besides spacers for the mounting points ( I was going to get some Nylonblok ones machined locally) and the Rad Mountings?
Is it worth doing? I Don't want to go 2" because the thing has to be a daily driver an will be running on 245/75 BFG on weekdays.... when playing and I stick on the Greenway MT's.
I don't want to chop the arches as they might look silly with smaller tyres so I figured lifting 1" would help articulation/rubbing MT's without major chopping.
All thoughts gratefully received.
hi i have put a 1.5" body lift on my range rover, not to bad to do but i expect you will need new mounting bolts for the extra length. i found it best to leave the rear mounts on jack up yhe front and put the spacers in then do the rear and put the others in after. i also loosened of the steering shaft just incase and there are 2 more mounts not to forget positioned ruffly under the rear seats. suspension wise a bit more envolved but not bad either
good luck

If you get a complete donor Discovery it should be straightforward as the RR and Disco share the same chassis. You will have to swap over engine mounts and gearbox mounts, but nothing radical.
ok great ill keep my eye out for one sounds easy enough.
