  1. "..I'd love one like that as a company car! .."

    No, you don't.

Have driven a few over the years and they're usually sluggish (loads of tools in the back) and the added boogies make them in corners.... interesting.

Also, getting them positioned on the tracks is not always easy as the famous steering works against you.

However, they do go once on the track 😉

    Braking requires a soft foot.

Most are limited to 45 km/h on track.

Those extra steps are really useful as they are quite high to get into sitting on rails.

  2. I have been privileged to obtain a Superwinch H14W Hydraulic winch - October 1999 origin.

Plan is to fit it to a 110 and to make the bookshelf a bit fuller,  I'm looking for some booklets.

Superwinch - it seems - made an instruction pamphlet to fit the winch to a Defender it seems :

I have found a very bad copy of this but would love to have a better one !

Also, the correct owners handbook / parts list for this year's H14W is very welcome.

    Thank You !!

  3. It's called bad administration....

Exportdocuments for cars should - at least before Brexit - include the VIN # and this is linked to ICARUS - the EU car system. Export declatation usu. means vehicle flagged as exported. Inside the EU it didn't work (there is no "export declaration" inside the EU) but some national "DVLA" databases were linked and getting a FR plate for a Dutch car usu. means 5 days later the car is flagged as exported in NL.

But as we all know, things do not always go as they should.

  4. Welcome to the MadHouse.

    We love pictures of Series...

Disc brake conversion : Zeus supplies a bolt on kit for both front and rear axle. Fit & forget. (Don't forget to get it TüV geprüfd)

LPG. As the other said. Doable but LPG is less and less easy to get in many countries. We have converted several Series in the past but modern systems are not cheap.. (Don't forget to get it TüV geprüfd)

Electric conversion : can't say anything about it.

  5. EV to drive are boring but mostly smooth and quiet to use.

Where I live - rural sort of covers it - makes charging them at home a challenge.

Don't get me started on HBV, tractors etc. that all will have to be electric. Present technology is just not there any time soon.

People who make these laws and all that have the money and too much distance to the real world to understand the problems most of us have to simply pay the bills.

Retro-fit a Series LR to EV makes no financial sense and here the legal problems are huge.

I'll keep the old diesels and petrol unti I die.

    I'll get me coat.
