  1. Funny enough my 07 puma didn't start las weekend, my problem was the Espacher heater I had plumbed into the fuel line, it had leaked past the jubilee clips and leaked out all over the drive. My solution was to by a manual priming pump off ebay (draper expert 43986 £13.95) I had to slightly adapt it by extending the plastic tubing on the outward end so I could loop it over to reconnect it to the engine and the other end I just wrapped some electrical tape around it to make it a snug air tight fit. The job got a bit messy but I simply kept pumping until the fuel came out (this took a minute or so was worried the seal was not air tight enough but the fuel eventually appeared) then I connected the other end to the engine tube and pumped abit more, took it all off and reconnected the fuel line and it started. hope this helps
  2. oops sorry only just read your post, i.ve already primed my arches today. sorry.
  3. Just about to spray my 110 Bonatti grey but my wheel arches are the standard flexible black ones and very grubby, so I was thinking that if I plastic primed them and sprayed them with the same paint and then 2 pack lacquer on top they would look great and all would be good in the world again (well mine anyway) or am I about to head for a creek without my paddles? My concern is that the paint won't be flexible enough, would be greatful for any help. Cheers
  4. Thought about one of those as well but decided to have ago at making my own, i'll put more picks up tomorrow this is the only one to hand at the moment you can just about see it. didn't cost much just plywood, thin foam, vinyl and staple gun. Currently houses the CB, speaker, spot light switches and interior light but probably going to and a second light to rear and map light, it's really stable as well.
  5. Hello all, I'm about to embark on a full respray and really fancy Maroon as in the picture, however I don't know if it is a metallic or not, ideally I'm after a solid maroon and this particular defender is a 05 plate TD5. Does anyone own one and do you know the colour code as I'm struggling to find it, already tried some links from here but unless I missed something I've had no luck. Any help would be gratefully received.
  6. I've put standard TF big bore shocks on with medium springs and my 110 is pretty much loaded and it sits great and feels great,it certainly gave it a lift, the standard springs left it looking a bit low. The front radius arm look fine but I think I'm going to put cranked rear arms on as it looks a little out. Towed a trailer with another 110 on it today for the first time (first time towing anything in fact.. it was fun..ish!) had to put tow ball as low as I could and the rear of the trailer was very low!
  7. couldn't agree more, I went to Mongolia in a Fiat Punto, basic kit, one spare jerry can and a socket set, not a single punture and no major break downs, going back this year, mind you I'll be taking my 300tdi, just in case... can't wait!
  8. Hi there, could anyone tell me if the off side wing on a 07 Puma is any different to a TD5 wing as mines damaged and needs replacing and a TD5 wing is far easier to come across than a Puma. thanks
  9. Hello all, this is my first post of what will nodoubt be the first of many as I've finally bought the 300tdi I've always wanted but boy does it need some work! Currently replacing the fuel tank and discovered the return pipe elbow on top of the tank had a hole in it and is so corroded that it isn't usable, question is where can I get one from as the tank I have bought came with most bits apart from the top pipe and plate,i've been looking but as yet no joy hope. hope you can help. Errol
