300tdi clutch problem

Recommended Posts

After spending the last 2 days replacing the seal at the rear of the flywheel,I finaly got everything back together, tried the clutch & the pedal went straight to the floor.I looked underneath, there was clutch fluid leaking out of the wading plug hole in the bell housing.
I took out the slave cylinder & the piston was completely out of the cylinder. The push rod was in place in the clutch fork.
Any ideas what I have done wrong,or why it's done this?
Thanks in advance.

Hi.

When the slave cylinder is removed you should be able to see the end of the rod. Yes you could try and fish the rod end up to the hole but I'd be surprised and happy for you if you get it poking out. I picked up a tip from this forum to cable tie the rod in/on the end of the arm that sits inside the bell housing.

Good luck.
