Michaell
Good day i have a D3 v6 and The car has one problem and that is when the car reaches full working temp it throws the car in limp assoon as when you come to an complete stand still when pressing the brake then when you switch the car off and on again the error is gone...until you press the brake again and come to an stand still then its the same story 😞
Nigel303
I have the same problem on Disco3 2006 TDV6. Done 220,00 km. Goes to limp mode on highway on negotiating long inclines. Replaced fuel tank pump, air filter, cleaned transmission circular cable connector with electrical contact cleaner (this cured erratic transmission behavior, smooth operation returned) but limp mode still occurs. I hear a lot of groaning and hissing, but this is from the wife. I get the feeling it might be the accelerator control? It’s life-threatening to have to pull off the highway, turn off the ignition and restart then try and get back into the traffic stream. RichardSys
I don't know if this helps. I had the "oil pump" problem. Anyway, after a rebuild of both heads etc. I got the car back and that evening it cut out whilst I was accelerating. It did it a couple more times. With the coronavirus lockdown, I didn't drive much but recently I have and it has been cutting out regularly. Transmission Fault, HDC unavailable etc. One thing I noticed throughout was a hot burning smell. Anyway. I was trying to work out when it was doing it and had already ruled out the brake light switch etc. I was mainly during harder acceleration but not exclusively; it also happened under gentle gas and I worked it out that it was at gear change (mine is an auto). It appears when they rebuilt my engine and replaced the radiator, they hadn't topped up the transmission fluid, it got hot, buggered and threw an error. I've had a transmission change and filter/sump and it seems to have cured the problem BUT....it's a disco so something else is sure to be the issue
daniellittlechild
has anyone managed to find a cure for this fault i have just changed a turbo because the actuator was inoperative now with the new one fitted the actuator is working when ignition is switched on but throws ( P132B-21 turbo/supercharger boost control A performance ) straight away and if you go for a drive and ask for a bit of power will put in limp mode and throws ( P023d-21 manifold absolute pressure - turbocharger/supercharger boost sensor a correlation ) any info would be much appreciated
sammcd
Hi, I have a Range Rover sport TDV8 2009 and have also been experiencing all the following issues. I have had the turbo checked and cleaned, the whole air intake system changed, hoses, intercooler....... transmission drained flushed and rebuilt. Full service oil, filters....... At low speeds the car drives perfectly but as soon as I push it a little or accelerate more harshly than my grandmother would the issues begin. HDC system fault, transmission fault, limited gears available, suspension system fault..... and the list goes on, with the full Christmas lights along with it. At this point I into "limp mode" and have to pull over to make a restart, however sometimes I am lucky and I do not have to turn off and restart. I have been to 5 different garages and 3 different registered Land rover service centres to fix all the issues that I have had with the car so far. I did not check through all of the wiring as i do not have and fault codes registered in the system, which in my opinion is also very strange?? I am now told that there is light at the end of the tunnel and I have been advised that a change of the fuel pump should solve my problem. Has anyone else done this? If so did it solve the problem? If anyone has some advise before a pay out for yet another part i would very much appreciate it, if not I will let you know how it goes. Thank you. Aaronml
I too have this issue. I re an the tank to 1/8 and apparently this is too low for a 260,000 engine or more so tank. Algae build up but been told it’s a body off chassis job to get to the tank and intanj pump, my local land rover specialist can do it for £1600 compared to dealer at £3000+. I paid £2500 for it and it’s the only thing wrong with excellent service history. I get gear fault, special services gone, suspension issues and no power if I accelerate more than 10%. Now I can get to 70 and drive my normal work route etc and M getting excellent mpg at 33.2mpg for driving like this. But I can’t overtake, dare not climb a long hill or if I do I need to switch to gear select mode and keep it revving high rather than ur being under strain in a lower gear from the auto. Apparently my my mechanic flushed the lines and filter which got it running again but has said the job will need done.is there another way to do this without taking the body off? Many thanks. TSD
You can get the cable trays out of the way with a bit of manipulation and the application of undue force. Disconnect as much of the wiring loom as seems necessary, cut the cable ties and lift the wiring out of the tray as far as you can (the plastic conduit will probably disintegrate, but this makes it easier). The trays are clipped to the pipes below, but they will come out, or at least out of the way. One thing I learned - tie a bit of cotton onto the leakoff pipe clips before you try to refit them. Sometimes they clip straight in, sometimes they ping off across the engine bay never to be seen again. Sods law says if you tie the cotton on, they will fit straight in
