Birdman96
I am replacing the injector loom again on a Disco 2 TD5 and trying to 'drain' some of the oil from the wiring to the red plug. I have pulled it back and left it disconnected from the ECU and hanging down the side of the engine. The red plug was full of oil but its not got into the ECU. I realise it won't drain all the oil out but some would be a help. I last changed the loom 4 years ago. Does anyone know how long I can leave the ECU disconnected from the battery without it loosing its programming?
BogMonster
I don't think it is a problem - i.e. as long as you want. I don't think there is anything in the ECU, with the possible exception of fault codes, that requires power.

Birdman96
Thanks for that. Having left it hanging down quite a bit of oil has drained out through the plug!
