Hafeez
Considering buying a 2002 Land Rover Freelander 2.0 Td4 3-door. Any advice? It's second hand from a dealership with 354000km on the clock. Can any tell me anything about the motor? Is it solid? Not sure if 2002 freelancers run Kseries motors.
jeremy996
K-Series motors are petrol, so you should be safe with a Td4 diesel. Most Freelander issues are around tyres, viscous couplings and electrics. At that mileage, check it has a prop on; a lot get "converted" to 2 wheel drive as either the viscous coupling or IRD have issues. If the prop is off, walk, as getting it back to full health is going to be pricey.
FridgeFreezer
2.0 TD4 is BMW M47 engine, very good lump. Search back through this forum for "buying advice" there's been about 50 people before you asking exactly the same questions.
