SPendrey
While draining/changing the swivels today, I took a measurement of both steering stop bolts. The near-side was 12.5mm (threaded gap between the hub and the bolt head), but the off-side is 17.5mm. Is this normal? Other than the obvious "they've been adjusted before", what might be a reason for then to be different?
smallfry
I found this several years ago, not that I bother to check every one ( I am on my 22nd Land Rover) I figured that it was because of the action of the arc of movement of the Panhard rod causes the axle to move sideways slightly when the suspension is compressed ? Even more so if one has a suspension lift. Or maybe they have been adjusted before !😄
miketomcat
I've never checked because I'm more interested in clearing the radius arm. So it wouldn't surprise me if they were different. Mike
