Gazzar
Sorry, didn't intend to be flippant. Apologies. Galvanising is a valid approach. My concern is two fold. Sulphur is one. Distortion of a cumbersome, weak structure is another. Galv plants have a reputation for being fisted, and the LWB tank isn't a good candidate for easy dipping, in my opinion. I think a DIY mild steel tank that's blasted and zinc epoxy sprayed will last as long as galv, so long as there's a decent wax applied. Gazzar
The tank is from Britpart. It's decent. No channels in the cradle. Good access to the cradle to tank area at the front. Extra bracing on the filler pipe compared to my other tanks. Has the anti slosh bit. Doesn't have the pressings to add rigidity to the crossmember recess. Despite this, the tank feels sturdy. Paint survived the fingernail drag test. I'll seal it up and inject cavity wax in the gap. Should be okay.

Snagger
That looks like my genuine 1982 tank, which has no rigidity pressings on the top cross member channel either (but does have pressed ribs on the cradle). How much did it cost?
Gazzar
£130 plus vat plus delivery. Blanchards. The only thing that bothers me is the absence of pressing around the drain bung; the bung is quite exposed.
Gazzar
All waxed and sealed. It took a pint of wax to fill the gap between the tank and the cradle. I'll underbody wax the inaccessible bits of the tank tomorrow. I aim to fit it on Friday. This is the gap between the angle section and the tank. Wax running in. And sealant: Around the underside, where the tank protrudes beyond the cradle:
