Hazza
Once it starts on spray - does it then keep running? Or does it die once the spray is taken away?
fmmv
So are you saying it only turns over if quick start is sprayed? One possible thing is the starter solenoid contacts wear out on td5s, and cause the starter to stop working. If you tap the starter it can sometimes make it work for a bit. New contact kits are fairly cheap and easy to fit if it is this; check ebay. Edited April 1, 2023 by fmmv

Hazza
Only turning over with quick start is extremely odd - can't understand how or why that would happen. It must turn over when the ignition is turned but theres no quick start too? Based on this assumption, sometimes the starter motors start to break down, causing electrical interference which affects the crank position sensor. You can test this by turning ignition on and then bump or tow starting. I.e. starting the engine without the starter motor interference. Retroanaconda
I suspect he means it only starts if easy start is sprayed in while turning it over. Without easy start it will just turn over but not fire up.
