Just addressing some work on mine and adjusting the roof for at the front edge at is doesn’t sit correctly. I noticed the gutter full of a sealant/filler of quite some thickness, painted but cracking all over. Am now removing all. I assume these had a run of sealer along them from new and should I be look in g to smooth the channels out again or just a run along any panel joins? miketomcat Posted August 3, 2023 Share Posted August 3, 2023 Very early 110's didn't have it but I suspect it got added at the factory to reduce the number of leak complaints. Northwards Posted August 4, 2023 Share Posted August 4, 2023 I did exactly this job a few years ago on my 1994 vehicle as the sealant was cracking and splitting in lots of places. It was definitely a factory thing, and a pig to get off, so you’ve done well. I more or less replicated what was there using broad beads of white PU sealant and smoothing them down.
