western
Thinking about replacing my steel fuel tank because it's weeping from bottom face, with a Td5 plastic tank, my galvanised Marsland chassis has the brackets for it as far as I can tell. Is this change feasable? I don't mind if the filler neck has to be change, but will I need the Td5 pick up pipe or can I keep the current side sender/pickup pipe? Eightpot
The TD5 rear crossmember is different to the earlier style - it has a different profile on the back of the crossmember which is slimmer than earlier ones - the td5 tank only just fits in the space- If marsland have used the td5 crossmember on yours and fitted the brackets then no problem but if not, it will not fit (I've tried!) TD5 tanks have only a large hole on the top for the combined pump/level fuel & return unit - you can't add a side sender. Hope that helps
fmmv
The Puma tanks will have the correct fuel pump, ie not a pump, like ROW 300s rather than td5, if you are getting a used one. As far as I know the tanks are the same. Or Safari used to make stainless tanks... Edited September 9, 2023 by fmmv
western
Yes to having the Td5 rear cross member, Thanks I may go for a stainless tank.
