tracengrant
hi there can any one help me please my indicators work all round but they dont flash on the display as it is an mot failure i need to get it sorted. I am just in the process of getting a used indicator/wiper stalk could this be the problem or is it the relay. Is there 1 or 2 relays for the indicators. Will the stalks be easy to fit to my discovery 200 tdi thank you
BogMonster
possibly the bulb(s) in the dash, can't remember how many there are on a 200Tdi whether left and right are separate or just the one is it indicators, hazards, or both? tracengrant
thanks its just the indicators that dont flash on dash but you can hear them working
Pete Attryde
Welcome to the forum, I think that Bogmonster was trying to establish wether or not the dash light works with the hazards switched on rather the indicators as this would establish wether the bulb in the dash had blown or if it was another problem. HTH Pete.
BogMonster
Pete is right - if the lights on the dash work with hazards on then the bulbs/wiring are ok, I am not sure how they are activated but assume it must be a double pole relay so the relay is possibly dud. tracengrant
thank you very much the hazards flash but its the trailer light that flashes
Pete Attryde
Sounds to me like the dash bulb has blown as on mine I get both the normal indicator light and the trailer light. Sorry I don't know the bulb part number but I am sure that someone will be along with the info soon. Pete
Orgasmic Farmer
Both my discos have had this fault. Swap the big relay for a know good one and I think your problem will go away. The winker relay is IIRC near the steering column above the pedals rather than behind the side footwell panel. It is the one thats obviously bigger than all the others. Quite expensive so worth borrowing one to be sure its the problem (or to get through the MOT )
