Guest diesel_jim
I won a freelander/rangie/probably disco GPS antenna on eblag a while ago, but i can't figure out what the UHF plug connection is properly called (so i can make up a lead without having to chop the original plug off) looks like this: anyone got any ideas? it's approx 6mm diameter, the inner part of the plug, which is male, therefore the "female" plug that i'm after will be 4mm. length of the knurled bit, 10mm cable diameter, about 3.5mm cheers all! Pete Attryde
Any chance of a better piccie of the connector? Is it threaded or a bayonet type? If it is threaded it may be a TNC connector as they are roughly those dimensions IIRC. HTH Pete.
mpb
Jim, if you cant out what plug it is, if you pop it in the post, ill replace the plug & make you up a patch lead with the required plug on each end. HTH
Highway_Star
Most GPS systems use MCX connectors. You can get them from CPC
white90
that connector is far larger than an MXC connector I have one of those connecting to a CF gps
Ex Member
What exactly are you planning to do with this? You can buy a new high quality antenna with the correct plug for $20. Also most antennas are seld powered and it may be important to make sure it won't fry your GPS.

Guest diesel_jim
looks like an SMA connector to me http://65.244.34.140//pdf/62.pdf It's not got a screw thread on it though, more like a "clip" into position. MPB: i'd like to take you up of the offer to crimp on another plug or make an adaptor. could you PM me your address? cheers Jamie

Jim, Difficult to tell from the picture ................ but, If its a snap on plug then it will be an SMB or a type G (thats a snap on version of the type F) and is quite common with OEM devices. you should be able to work it out from here .................http://www.amphenolrf.com/products/typeg.asp Ian
