Not only are the wiring looms different in the softdash but the bulkhead is completely different. Then there's figuring out how to hook everything up to the much fancier instrument binacle. I think it's probably doable if you're bloody minded enough but it's not a simple job. It's been discussed at least once (when I was thinking of doing it) if you search in this forum.
