Bought my first discovery 2 weeks ago, 200 tdi on a J plate - very pleased with it. Well i am actually lying about it being the first - i owned a v8 for 2 weeks previous to this tdi and got rid of it when i realised i might aswell be throwing twenty's out the window whilst driving along!!! Anyway, 200 tdi, great car - bit of a bargain off ebay - very noisey on de-celeration. I was expecting gearbox at worst, but turns out to be transfer box which is a bonus. OK, so my question is - I have a V8 1995 transfer box - is this exactly the same LT238T as the 200tdi? is there any difference in the gearing? Is it going to make it a bit of an awful ride because its a petrol transfer box at all? Or are the insides of the transfer box literall all the same?? Many thanks guys.
