Bumpyride
I have fitted a 200tdi to my 110, however think the down pipe connection from the turbo might have a fitting missing. As the pipe drops vertically there is a flange with two bolt holes in it, these appear to look like they would bolt to a fitting attached to the main engine block. There are two nearby holes on the engine block, but not on the same centers as the ones on the exhaust pipe so i presme there is a plate or something here. Does anybody know about this or better still do a quick picture of it for me. Thanks in advance
western
it should bolt directly to the engine block, there's no spacer or other part in between.

ESR266 - Exhaust mounting bracket. Could take a picture later, but they don't cost much, so not much point in making your own.

Not on my Genuine LR Retro-fit 200Tdi there isn't. my downpipe welded bracket bolts straight to the block same as the previously fitted TD one did. As I understand it, the TD retro-fit kit re-used the TD downpipe, so you are talking apples and oranges here. The production 200TDI downpipe has a bracket between it and the block. You "could" look in the part manual if you wished to see.
Adz
I agree... my factory 200 Tdi needs a bracket - replaced mine with a stealer bought part approx 3 months ago at the huge cost of approx £8 inc VAT from a stealer in Basingstoke. western
Mine has a 200tdi downpipe part number ESR158, just 1 single bolt secures it to the block. photo below
Bumpyride
i asked this question some time ago, it appears that my exhaust bracket won't stretch enough to allow it to be bolted to the threaded holes on the engine block. Or is there an intermediate bracket between the welded unit on the pipe and the block? from the two pictures it looks as though the brackets are different thus why it doesn't reach the bolt. I am planning to make a plate to fit accross this gap, however, what is the feeling on how much stress you can put on the downpipe? I am fitting a 200tdi into a 2.5n/a, for reference? please see photos
mike4444244
mines the same as ralphs, well it would be if i had ever fitted it, i never had a problem with it not being there! mike
LandyManLuke
Mine's got the bracket between the block and the downpipe - so there are two solutions here. It would make sense that the addition of the bracket would move the hole centres to the 'other' position.
